Alex thinks it's a terrible idea.
Kara presents her the poster that offers a prize of two million gold coins for the knight that saves princess Lena with a wide smile. As if it’s the answer to all of their problems. And all Alex can do is sigh. Sure, they can use the money to close Alex’s not so small debt at the local tavern and finally escape this city, but a suicidal rescue mission is certainly not the answer.
Kara fails to see the problem. She has done her fair share of stupid, dangerous things for money in the past. You can't really be picky in your choice of gig in their position. And with this amount of money they can buy themselves a passage out of the kingdom and have a fresh start.

You are a blank slate. A lot of people would have killed to be in your position. To have a fresh start. But you long for memories. or Lena is a terrible enabler. Kara wants anything and everything Lena will give her, and underneath the weight of such gentle, earnest warmth, it keeps escaping Kara why that is dangerous.

“Damn it,” Alex grumbles, kicking at an empty chair until it skids across the floor. “Come on, guys. There has to be someone who can go undercover. Any woman under 30 at this bureau who can put on some makeup and twirl in a circle.”
And then all eyes, inexplicably, go to Kara.
“Who?” Kara asks, looking back and forth between Alex and Vasquez and surreptitiously brushing the Cheeto dust from her pants. “Who is it, guys?”
But Alex and Vasquez just keep staring at her silently, matching grins on their faces, and after a few seconds the horrible truth dawns on her. Kara blinks, looking down at herself and then back up at them.
“But…I’m 31?”

It’s absolutely against the rules for Cupids to reveal themselves to their charges. And it’s even more against the rules for Cupids to have lunch with their charges several times a week, have movie nights on said charge’s couch, and develop a years-long intimate friendship. And it is absolutely, one hundred percent against the rules for Cupids to develop teeny, tiny, baby crushes on the people they’re supposed to be finding love for.
But, that’s Kara’s cross to bear; she’s always been a rule-breaker.

Kara is a Cupid, assigned to find love for one Lena Luthor. The problem is, every match she tries to make fails miserably, and Lena doesn't seem bothered by it at all.
