“Hawks!” Dabi grabbed his shoulder and Hawks startled. He pulled his hands up, ripping them away and punching Dabi’s shoulder. He managed to knock him off of Hawks and Hawks scooted backwards. Dabi stared at him, moving forward. “Holy shit, calm down.”
Calm down!? Calm down, when Hawks just had his quirk ripped away from him and was discovered as a double agent and was going to be tortured in god knows what way for the rest of his life? When he was going to be thrown back out to the rest of society, as a sign that the heroes failed, that there was no safety!? Yeah, that really seemed like a good time to calm down. “Stop it,” Hawks growled. “You don’t get to tell me to calm down.”
“What the hell kind of nightmare did you have!?” Dabi grabbed his shoulder again and Hawks tried to pull it off again. Dabi’s fingers dug into his skin and Hawks sharpened his wings instinctively, flaring them out behind himself as a threat.
(Or: Being a double agent starts to weigh on Hawks' mind and he has a hard to forget nightmare. Dabi is there when he wakes up.)
