Summary
Had she been watching Andrea closely, she would have noticed the young woman’s breath hitch. Or the lightest bit of pink that suddenly colored her cheeks. Or the way the tips of her fingers shook just a little where she held the hot coffee in her hand.
But no, Miranda wasn’t studying Andrea closely enough to notice any of those things.
No. Not at all.

Two years after Andrea Sachs left without so much as a "goodbye", Miranda finds herself unexpectedly face-to-face with the one who got away.

Summary
Miranda studied the tie closest to Nigel’s wrist, a patternless option in tangerine. She picked it up and beckoned Andrea over with a bend of one finger. Once close enough, she draped the tie over her assistant's left shoulder to compare it against the large apricot-toned hibiscus on the print of her blouse. It was exactly the color she was looking for, and as Miranda smoothed the fabric with her hand, she could feel Andrea’s heart thundering beneath her palm. A pink blush crept up her chest and neck, and as it made its way to her cheeks, Miranda silently admired how lovely the hue was there.

Summary
Unlike the others, this one registers at a 90%, far exceeding anything else that’s shown up in her inbox thus far. This woman’s profile picture is far less suggestive than her other so-called matches, her face half-covered by the professional camera she holds in front of it. Her hair is straight and dark and sits just below her jawline, and by the lack of fine lines at her eyes and mouth as she smiles, Carol guesses she can’t be much older than twenty-five. The public side of her profile is mostly bare except for a short self-written description that’s about as cryptic as Carol’s own.
Flung out of space.

Summary
With the scarf firmly in her grasp, she steps forward and drapes it gently over the young woman's shoulders, then ties a loose knot at her collarbone to secure it. “There you are,” Anne hums, twisting her finger around the fringe on one end of the scarf. “Good as new.”
Tossing another "thank you" quickly over her shoulder, the beautiful stranger turns on her heels and disappears down the block, Anne's last sight of her being a rush of curls and the ripple of her scarf as it blows lightly behind her in the wind.

Summary
Ann observes – studies her.
The mystery woman grabs one book from the shelf and fingers through it quickly. Even from the short distance, Ann can see her hands are strong yet feminine, a professional shade of dark red polish on her short, manicured nails. She presses one lightly against the binding as she reads – impatient yet focused – and Ann watches every tap and twitch of them as they slide along the book's spine.
“We share a name.”
“Do we? Well imagine that."
