Summary
Max knows she shouldn't drink, that it won't do anything to solve her problems. She lifts the bottle to her lips since there's no one around to stop her. It's only her and Neil in the house and he's already passed out.
That's how Billy finds her - on the floor drunk in her own bedroom on a Friday night, wedged between her bed and the window.

“Listen, Max,” Billy said, “this shit should not have happened. You get that, right?”
Max shrugged awkwardly. “It’s whatever.” That was what people who were not weak said. It’s whatever that your dad gave me a black eye. No big deal, really.
; (When Max breaks Billy's rule never to defend him, she realizes there are more reasons for it than just the obvious one.)

Summary
“Is this art show more important than not being kidnapped?” he asked. “I just wanna make sure you’re aware that that’s what you’re saying to me.”
Amy blinked, then her famous Palavi resolve hardened. “My parents are coming. It’s the first time my dad will ever see my art. It really is that important.”
“Alrighty then,” Hardison said. “Lemme see what we can cook up to let you go to your art show and also not get kidnapped. In that order.”
Or, the time that none of the team was available to watch out for Amy Palavi, so they call in someone who's definitely not Eliot.

Summary
She feels like a ghost in her own house, but Billy is the one who haunts her.
Billy has done some horrible things, there's no way around it. However, this story is about a little girl who lost her brother and the way she copes with his death and how she gets to know her brother after he dies. Being the only one left is frightening, and Max has to come to terms with a lot of things that are difficult for even adults to admit, especially when those things are grounded in abuse.
