It was a curse, some said. A gift, according to others. The sect debated for years on the technicalities and argued their differing opinions over Lan Zhan's head until Lan Qiren insisted the sect leave his nephew alone.
No one ever asked Lan Zhan what he thought.
He considered it neither a gift nor a curse. It was simply a part of him, the same as his golden core.
But he treasured it either way, because it was his mother's greatest gift to him, and her last.
- Part 11 of Untamed Fics & Prompts
He knows right away that he’s dreaming.
There isn’t any one thing that does it: he’s on the steps of Carp Tower, sun blazing too hot, only a whisper of a breeze even at this height. He can feel himself starting to sweat beneath the dark material of his robes, under the hair at the back of his neck. It’s familiar, and vividly real, clearer than any dream he can recall having before. Even so, he knows.
Perhaps it is simply that Lan Zhan is stood beside him. When was the last time that happened?
Fill for the prompt: Wei Wuxian is cursed to experience Lan Wangji's dreams every night in the starring role of himself.

The Patriarch had joked about putting him in a veil, but Lan Wangji refused outright, the only piece of autonomy he’d demanded for the whole thing. Being covered like that, trapped, would have made him panic. He might have let tears drip down his cheeks if he hadn’t had to worry about anyone seeing his face.
As Lan Wangji bowed, he thought of his mother, and he almost wept anyway.
In an effort to keep the Yiling Patriarch from destroying their own sects like he’d destroyed Wen Ruohan’s, the Great Sects band together an offer him an alliance in the form of a marriage.
Who better to offer than the Second Jade of Lan?

"Lan Zhan," Wei Ying says carefully, "do you truly not know you have been speaking?"
Lan Wangji claps a hand to his mouth and, to his horror, feels his mouth opening to answer despite having no intention to do so. Clamping it shut again takes a great effort.
The one where Lan Wangji can't stop talking, and a mild amount of chaos ensues.
The thing is, David actually does believe in soul mates.
People always seem surprised by this – which, rude. How could he not with the way his parents fit together so perfectly, so utterly devoted to each other, even after all these years, with all their ridiculous flaws? How could he not, when Alexis meets a handsome veterinarian on holiday in the Galapagos islands and grows up, seemingly overnight?
No, David Rose believes in soul mates.
He just... isn’t sure there’s one out there for him anymore.
