Prompt:
It's a week before Christmas and David Rose has run away from Schitt's Creek. Only problem is, the truck he stole broke down and now he's stranded. He's rescued by a nice couple who insist that he stay with them and their newly single son for Christmas.

“David, what I’m about to say is going to sound very weird, but hear me out… my parents are trying to set us up.”A surprised laugh escapes David, he had wondered the night before, but still… “What? No, that's not possible. No parent has ever wanted me as a partner for their child.”
“Well, they do. Mostly Mom, but Dad is on board too, even if he isn’t trying as actively as she is.”

Summary
Patrick is laser-focused on decorating cookies, tongue peaking from the side of his mouth –in that distracting way David feels so normal about– when he approaches him.
“I made extra for you,” Patrick tells him without looking. He got into a habit of saving things for David to try as soon as he learnt how much he loves baked goods, and that alone would have been enough to conquer David’s heart, but his character and other assets helped a bit, too.
“You know me too well,” David replies, devouring one cookie. “Oh my God! These are amazing.”
“It’s Mom’s recipe,” he says, beaming with affection.
“Can I marry her?”
“No,” Patrick smiles. He's still extremely focused, competently drawing something with a piping bag. Another check in the list of turn-ons David wasn't aware he had until he met Patrick. He stops working for a moment and looks at David teasingly before throwing his final blow, “but I’m available.” -

“Then why is it so important to have a soulmate?”
