Summary
“So, what the hell was all that about in you guys’ newest single, Mike? You just went off with some fuckin’ monologue about Hotdogfingers! It was pretty good, like, what? Those are some badass fuckin boasts, Mike! Like, you really said R.I.V to her, but I--”
Tillman’s laughing when he glances over at Mike’s face anticipating the response, and it dies in his throat at Mike’s expression.
“They kept that?”

Summary
Tillman doesn’t even find out Mike’s been sent to the shadows until two days after the election.
Nobody bothers to let Tillman know (he doesn’t expect texts or people pulling him aside normally anyways, but he kind of assumed if it involved his fucking boyfriend they’d make an exception); he finds out as a footnote from the ticker two days after the fact. A single line rolling across tv screens in stadiums. An asterisk in somebody else’s story.

Summary
When the noise over the intercoms starts to get fainter and more distorted, he gives up on trying to keep his eyes open, slumping down in the control seat and barely registering the garbled, faint “ ...Bro? ” that comes from Lagann’s microphone.
‘It’s fine,’ he thinks, letting himself drift off into dark, dreamless sleep. ‘I’ll just take a nap, and when I wake up, we’ll throw the best party these people have ever seen.’

“C’mon, Rossiu, you could at least act excited.”
“I cannot believe I let you talk me into this.”
“Into what?! A day off at my house? Geez, this is exactly why I said you should take a break!”
“We are busy, Simo--”
“We aren’t so busy that you can’t come spend a night at my house, your boyfriend’s house, for Valentine’s!”

Summary
Morbidly curious, Goro reached out, pushing a hand through Ren’s hair. Ren only shivered.
“Well,” Goro whispered, withdrawing. “Well.”
So, he was dead. He was lingering. He supposed that he was panicking, that he was floundering, that he was perhaps even dissociating, but could one experience any of those things, truly, if one were dead?
When reality returns to normal, Akechi haunts the living.

Summary
“Nobody seems to know what to do with you. When I received the call, the warden seemed bewildered that you were even here at all.” It was a phone call that Naoto would not soon forget—the chilling way that the warden seemed to continually forget what he was asking mid-sentence, unable to latch onto Akechi’s name as if his existence was something contingent on his direct and immediate presence.
Akechi bared his teeth, eyes in shadow. “Nobody has ever known what to do with me,” he said, voice dripping acid.
“Then, this should be refreshing for you,” he said, delighting in the way that Akechi’s gaze sharpened as Naoto plucked a nonexistent piece of lint from his coat. “You’re coming with me. To Inaba.”
At the end of P5R, the world forgets Akechi.
