Eleanor Lucia Mountchristen Windsor Diaz is familiar with her family’s history. Her dads have told her how they fell in love through secret emails and clandestine meetings, as her Grandma Ellen fought to stay in the White House. It all sounds so romantic. Like the telenovelas she sometimes watches with her Aunt June.
She knows there’s more to the story, but it all happened so long ago, and the scandal was never the focus of her family’s lore. So, like many other things, it was more or less lost over time.

Summary
Patrick finishes signing his life away, agreeing that he’s not currently drunk, high, or under the influence of any other mind-altering substances and is consenting to have someone jab him repeatedly with a needle for an indeterminate amount of time. He wanders away from the counter to look at the art on the walls.
Each of the paintings and sketches hanging up have “D. Rose” signed in the bottom right corner and he assumes that must be David. He knows the name, of course, if for no other reason than all the stalking he’s done on Instagram and TikTok, spending untold hours staring at David’s work and convincing himself it was time to do this and move on.
His breath catches as David rounds the corner and looks up in his direction. Suddenly, Patrick is feeling woozy again, less from the prospect of getting tattooed and more from the idea of having to remember to breathe for multiple hours in close proximity to the hottest man he’s ever seen.
