Summary
His Google search history leading up to Hen and Karen’s vow renewal looks like this:
How to stop being attracted to your best friend
Why am I attracted to my best friend
Why am I attracted to my best friend + man
Why are arms so attractive on men
How to make my house carry-proof
How do I tell my best friend to keep his shirt on
Why does my best friend keep yawning
Yawning remedies
Dry lip remedies
Slip-resistant dish gloves
Slip-resistant dish gloves floral patternAnd then he just spent the next hour finding and ordering stupid dish gloves for Buck, because Google, it turns out, does not always have the answer, and leaves Eddie with more questions than before (like: does Buck have sleep apnea, actually, and if so, should he be seeing someone for it?).

or; buck moves in with eddie while taylor finds a new place, and prompts what feels like puberty 2.0 for eddie diaz.

Summary
Buck doesn’t remember the details. It’s all foggy, mostly – how he got here. He barely remembers the events leading up to this: almost like he’d gone to sleep one night and woken here, a cruel reality, a prison of his own making. He thinks it could be hell: Eddie had warned him of hell, once, but then there are times where he’ll feel a brief sting in his arm, or the wind run through his hair, and it feels less like he’s a wayward soul and more like an asshole who got the short end of the stick, all things considered.

or; buck is the last man on earth. he’s dealing with it.

Summary
Isak Valtersen may remember his relationship with Even Bech Næsheim, but it’s been a long time since he’s felt anything but polite disinterest for it.
This seems a little out of character for many people: including himself, at times.
Turns out, that may be his own fault.

Summary
“Oh,” Greg says, his face falling, “that’s Lucifer.”
Buck lets out something between a laugh and a cough.
“Lucifer,” he repeats.
“It's a long story,” Greg says, tugging on the collar of his polo, his name tag clinking. “He's—not exactly well socialized, and he really, really hates—“ he starts, except he’s interrupted by Eddie’s voice, the first words Buck has heard him say since they dropped Chris off at Hen and Karen's.
“Hi,” Eddie says, crouching right under the bright red sign – which, now that Buck’s close enough to read it, says DO NOT PET – and reaching his fingers toward the bars.
“—men,” Greg finishes, his voice weak, frozen mid-step like he’s not sure if he should be hauling Eddie away while there’s still time. “He hates men. Usually.”
or the one in which healing looks a little like ten pounds of dog with a mean streak.

Summary
Eddie shoves his hands deep into Buck’s pockets as he hurries back up the footpath and—he stops. There’s something in the left pocket. Something small, and hard, and square, edges digging into Eddie’s palm. He pulls it out slowly: a jewellery box. The kind of jewellery box that is unmistakable.
Eddie hesitates, wind and cold forgotten, frozen on the steps up to the front door. He shouldn’t. He—probably shouldn’t.
But he does.
Or: when Buck put the ring in his pocket, he forgot to account for the fact that his boyfriend is a clothes thief.

Summary
I didn’t know what it meant when you kissed me up against that counter, Buck wants to say. He wants to name every place that’s hurt to see for the past three years. Wants to remind Eddie of the way they used to be in bed together, quiet and all-consuming, the way their hands would curl together on Eddie’s stomach in their sleep. Wants to ask why Ana isn’t there anymore, why Eddie doesn’t tell him to get out when Buck’s spending the seventh consecutive night on his couch.
Buck wants, and wants, and wants.
Isn’t that the story of his life.
or the one in which, a couple of weeks after meeting each other, buck and eddie fell in love, broke up, and then forgot to fall out of it.

Summary
“I lived in Mexico for a while,” Buck’s saying, hands folded behind his head as he leans back in his chair, one long, lean line, “It was cool, I learned a lot.”
“Did you?” Eddie asks, dropping his mug into the sink as he passes it. Buck looks over at him, like he hadn’t realized Eddie was in the room.

Summary
Bobby watches Buck closely, with a protective eye. He assesses the risky scenarios and does his best to make the right call on Buck's behalf, but being a Captain isn’t the same as being a partner. No, Buck needs a level-head to match his reckless streak, to hold his line and reel him back, to follow him through fire and drag him out the other side.
He needs someone to protect him, but more than that, Buck needs someone to protect. His heart, his half-hidden heart needs an outlet, someone to care for, someone to defend.
("Me and Chim, we watch each other’s backs. But who’s watching Buck’s?")
Or; Bobby handpicks a partner for Buck in the form of Eddie Diaz.
