Soon, Napoleon was at the front of the queue, the last of the others trailing out. The giant hallowed space of the church surrounded just the two of them, and suddenly felt a lot smaller.
“Hello,” the Priest said, his smile much more hesitant than the one Napoleon saw him offer the usual crowd.
“Don’t sound too shocked to see me.”

Summary
Blades hissing against ice, beating a steady rhythm to the echoing Vivaldi track. The arena lights dancing off of pink sequinned fabric. The blur of Alexis skating past him. The rush of air in her wake. His thundering heart calmed by the composure on her face, and the twitch in his eyebrows, making sure his expression matched.
This was David’s world. It was what he knew best.
This was their final practice for the 2021 Canadian Championships, which, if they won, would mean their third national title: the final step to make their Olympic dreams come true. David wasn’t even thinking as he let his body fall into the grooves of the routine, practiced a thousand times. All they had left to go was one simultaneous double-axel, then a lift, and finally their signature move. Like clockwork, at this part David’s palms would start to sweat in anticipation. Not like, a disgusting amount, but a normal, totally reasonable amount for the amount of pressure they were under.

The townsfolk said a monster lived in the castle. They were idiots on a good day, but it was easy to see how they came to this conclusion. The castle did nothing to help its case, with its jagged dark towers stabbing up into the sky. It looked like it could only exist at twilight. It lurked at the edge of the forest, which buffered it from the rest of civilization. If you could get close enough you would find its foreboding iron gates tangled with heavy chains. It was a beacon of silence, except for the days the wind howled through its eaves, sending out its mourning cry that would startle people out of sleep. It was foreboding nightmare-fodder. For some.

Is there a word for the absence of an echo? When you call into a vast, dark space and expect an answer, even just a reflection of your own voice, but nothing will call back to you? These are Dean’s thoughts. This is the world.
Wall at his back. Shuddering. Gone. Hands numb, shaking. Bereft of tears. Cas gone. Which means love gone. Forever.
Wall at his back and he can’t stop trembling. Numb. It could be seconds, or minutes, or hours. It feels like years. Time dissolves around him, the world dissolves around him. Cas. Gone.
And only the absence of an echo of the world, left.

Fixing the events of 15x19 to give the characters believable arcs and the stories they deserved (including Michael because WOW) and the events of 15x20 so that, essentially, they never happened and Dean grieved properly before getting to live out his days with the love of his life, on earth.

Summary

Summary
As a grease monkey turned college freshman, Dean's constantly three seconds away from being stressed out of his mind. It hardly helps that he's finally figuring out his sexuality in his thirties.
What might help with that stress is a little phone number (and a big credit card bill). If he can't figure out how to be bisexual in person, he can at least give it a go over the phone, right?
(It's probably a bad idea, but he really can't help himself.)
