Summary
The year is... Xie Lian doesn't remember. Some absurd number. The world around him has become 'blink and you'll miss it.' Cars lost their wheels, phones turned into watches, and the ex-ex-god sells once-garbage as antique pieces.
When he ascends again, it's no surprise. Divinity is possessive. It doesn't care that its golden child now lives in an apartment complex full of drug and arms dealers, subsisting on moldy peanut butter sandwiches, and routinely wakes, screaming, from nightmares of dead parents and faces crowded on top of faces.
All Xie Lian expects from his third ascension is bureaucracy and unpleasant reunions. He doesn't expect the appearance of an odd figure - a strange man behind a red curtain, who rescues him from a combination ghost-attack-car-accident and then begins appearing in his dreams.

The Fourth Wall exists to protect Kim Dokja, but sometimes, being a wall isn't enough to do that. Sometimes, Kim Dokja needs something stronger.It is a beautiful day and you are a horrible goose.
You are not always a goose anymore than you are always horrible, because that would be a whole different kind of story. Normally you are a wall, and a beautiful one at that. Perhaps even the most beautiful wall, though Kim Dokja would disagree. Kim Dokja is allergic to telling the truth and nothing but the whole truth, so you don’t listen to him. He’s stupid like that. Stupid Kim Dokja.
And yet, he’s your stupid boy. He’s yours to protect and to look after and to love no matter what form you take, and this is why you are currently a goose.
Sometimes, Kim Dokja needs a guardian goose. And thanks to a certain constellation, he gets one.
This changes things alot more than you might think.
(Or: There is a goose loose in the star stream. No-one knows how it got there. No-one knows what it's going to do next.
What we do know is that it is a Kim Dokja stan).

The gem shines, reflecting red light across his cheeks.
Link can’t say how long he sits in that bed of golden roses, holding dark steel and smiling.
