Being a fairy prince isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, especially when you’re cursed to die by the age of twenty. A year before his birthday, Taehyung meets fairy hunter Jeongguk, and he’s pretty sure he’ll die a little earlier than planned.
"Don't be scared, hyung," Jeongguk said, eyes still fixed on the brown wolf standing in the clearing, not moving, only looking at them. "Don't be scared, she won't harm us."
Maybe it was in the way Jeongguk suddenly sounded so assured and solid, not shy and timid, maybe it was how he completely trusted his new friend. But Taehyung felt his body relax. There was still this funny feeling in the pit of his stomach, but the sudden sense of dread and the need to just take his legs and run was gone.
"Okay," he said, standing next to Jeongguk, his heart still beating a mile a minute. "Okay."
“I hope you understand. Please, don't expect that if you ask me to drop everything, I'll actually do it, because I can't and won't,” Jeongguk adds, turning around, his face is serious, his lips forming a straight line.
Taehyung doesn't know what being yourself around someone else means, Jeongguk is there to show him.
Jeongguk is almost never certain.
