Stuck in a suffocating contract that he no longer wants, Dazai tries in vain to salvage what he has left. Dazai knows he should have never fallen in love with someone dangerous like Chuuya, should have been more careful with his heart and his money, but he's already in too deep to care.
“Chuuya. Close your eyes and imagine that we are not like this, buyer and seller. If this relationship was real, tell me, in three words, what would you say to me?”
“I don’t know,” he forced himself to say after a torturous pause.
But that wasn’t what he meant at all. What he was thinking was, instead: I love you.
