But it was okay, because despite all the hardships and loss and grief and trauma, there were moments like these that reminded Hiiro that the world was still beautiful and it was worth staying in. He longed for these moments, where he was inseparable from nature and he was nature and nature was him, because they gave him life. They gave him energy, and hope, and strength, so he kept going. For nature, for his friends.
He truly, truly loved his friends.
Maybe he should bring them all down here before they leave, when the sun sets and the warm sky blends with the cool surface. He’d like that.

Grian happens to be one of the "lucky" few who go out in giant death machines and fight even more giant death lizards that crawl out of a hole in the ocean. Just his luck. But the project admin seems nice, and being drift-compatible with so many people means he gets to choose his copilot...
He begins to wonder how many kaijus he can blow up with a plasma cannon before he's told to stop.
