There must be a reckoning in Revendreth – but first, Denathrius himself knows he must kneel and be cleansed.
Denathrius blows gently over the surface of the goblet of anima, dispersing the malingering mist, and drinks deeply. The first signs of suffering from the drought have already lent a milder texture to recent offerings, a wintry vintage of aching despair underpinned by notes of fluting sorrow. He finds he does not prefer it to the usual untenable rage and bright pain flavoring the harvested anima of those undergoing redemption, but needs must.

Summary
Anduin goes to him in the night.
If any member of their unlikely militia mark Anduin’s passing through the night camp, they say nothing. It’s late and their company has taken shelter somewhere in southern Durotar, pitching tents among the ruins of an old Alliance keep. Only a portion of the outer wall remains, the rest crumbled to dust and rubble.
Anduin thinks it fitting that this part of his inheritance be only remembered as moldering rock. He wishes every day that he might heal the wounds left by long years of war; it’s somewhat heartening that even these scars are fading.

Summary
On weekends when Waylon isn’t working, sometimes he and Eddie try to rewrite their first encounter. Give it a happier ending.
The footsteps in the dark hallway outside the bedroom grow closer. Waylon squeezes as far back into the closet as he can manage. The collection of winter coats and suit jackets keeps him concealed, but obscure his vision, so he holds his breath and strains to listen. He can hear Eddie stop just outside and inhale deeply, like a hound scenting prey.

Summary
Eddie Gluskin, 46, survives Mount Massive Asylum against all odds. What he doesn't expect is kindness.
Waylon’s straight hair has grown out, dark at the crown of his head, the tips still blonde and just beginning to curl around his ears. He approaches the barrier with a limp and stands with his hands in his pockets, but shows no other visible signs of what happened to him at Mount Massive.
He's easily a full foot shorter than Eddie, maybe more, but he stands there watching Eddie with all the fearless self-assurance of a child observing a grizzly bear at the zoo.

The kid gets why he’s smiling, and bristles. A little crease appears between his eyes. “I know how to box,” he says.
That makes Bucky smile even more. He feels terrible; he’s hurting the guy’s feelings but he can’t wipe it off his face. “Okay,” he says. “Got some pointers for me?”

“All I need is beer,” Geralt grunts. “Lots of it.”
“Oh, you think so, do you? Go on then, take a peek.” The maid looks slightly put out; Jaskier will feel bad about upsetting her later, he’s too irritated with Geralt right now. “Go on!”
Geralt gives him a strange look. When all Jaskier offers is its steady return, he makes a reluctantly curious sound. Music pours through the small crack he opens in the door.
A long, long moment passes.
“Fuck.”
