“I guess,” Jamie says. “Or they're trying to set us up.”
Dani snorts as she takes a sip of her drink, coughing as she tries not to look flustered in front of Jamie. Her eyes widen when she realizes Jamie is serious.
“W-why would they do that?”
Jamie leans back against the kitchen counter, shrugging her shoulders as she takes a sip of her drink.
“Hannah loves playing match-maker,” Jamie says. “But don’t worry. I know a straight girl when I see one.”

“Did that boy hurt you?” Her mother repeats herself, emphasizing each word to get her point across.

Summary
She tries to leave a gap between herself and Clarke, room for stuttered syllables and half formed thoughts, space for red and wrong and want. (If I leaned a little to the left, bet our fingertips would touch.) It doesn't work though, not with Clarke insisting on taking up way more than her half of the bed, a starfish to rival Lexa's rigid plank.
“Hey, Lexa? You know that... person you broke up with? The one that you told me about on the first day of term?”
She turns round to face her, breath hot against Lexa's lips, breaking the invisible barrier of cloth and skin. “Why did you... you know, end things?”
And maybe it's because Clarke said “person” instead of boy, or the fact that it's two am and all her pride has turned to ashes in the dark, but somehow she starts spilling her soul, a tabloid free for all.
....................
Because she’s destined for the sweetest of epilogues, and Lexa doesn’t want to end her story with anyone but Clarke.Bookmarked by gnarleyquinn
