"Korra Waters; the hired help, stable hand, groundskeeper, etcetera," she offers by way of explanation.
Asami stares at her hand for a long moment, but doesn't take it. If she's offended by her utter lack of social skills it doesn't seem to show. If anything, she looks amused.
Her parents hired someone to work the ranch. And she's living in the apartment. She's supposed to be here and she's just barged in on her in the middle of the night, disrupting her sleep. The facts slowly permeate the fog surrounding her brain and she feels heat rise to her cheeks as embarrassment pounds in her ears. She really should have called ahead.
"Uh, I'm Asami Sato, my parents, they own the property."
“Okay, last rule.” Korra shoves the notebook in between them, intent on distracting Asami from her nightmare of an Instagram account. “Five seems like a good place to end. Any ideas?”
“I got one.” Asami leans forward in her seat slightly. “Promise not to fall in love with me by the end of this.”
Her eyes are bleary, and Asami pulls away just enough. Enough to be able to stare into them clearly and enough for Korra to whine, thread her fingers in Asami’s hair. She attempts to pull her back down, reaches for another kiss, but Asami is giggling and it’s easy.
“What’re we doing?” Asami continues to giggle, voice quiet.
“I think we’re kissing.”
After years of being with Korra, Asami’s learned how to understand her nonverbal cues without having to ask any questions at all. It starts with the way Korra’s fingers brush against hers, running along her engagement ring. Light and innocent, a touch that’s almost barely there. The way Korra’s eyes trail from her eyes to her lips and back up again, the way that her lips slightly part and how her thighs squeeze together in a movement so subtle, that anyone else would miss it.
- Part 2 of getaway car
She takes the worst ones. The jobs that don’t stay on her conscience, the ones where she can calmly pack up her rifle after a clean shot and walk away without a look back.
This job is different - Asami doesn’t take it because she wants to. She takes it because she has a chance to make more on this one hit than she has on her last ten, and because she owes very, very bad people money who have very, very bad consequences for those who don’t pay up.
- Part 1 of getaway car
An AU where Asami falls in love of with one of Korra’s sketches while passing by her art stand in Central Park. A few days after purchasing the piece, she decides to email Korra. They accidentally become friends through their emails. The problem is, Korra doesn’t realize she’s emailing Asami Sato, an extremely famous actress.
