Hello and WELCOME to Let's Watch The Show, an OK K.O. fan analysis series! Available now in the back ads of the official Chip Damage comic book, right next to the order form for Sea Monkeys. I am your host, a man who is clearly an escaped one off villian from a Hostess Fruit Pies ad, Friendly Troll!
This is an episode by episode series of essays on OK K.O. with the intended goal of reviewing every single episode of the series! I'll be covering aspects of the show ranging from the character development, the plot, and all those sneaky little details* that turn out to be important later!
Why? Because I love this show! And I'm going to think about all this stuff anyhow so. Might as well formalize it, and take y'all along for the ride!! So-
LET'S WATCH THE SHOW!
Updates every Monday!
Just like everyone else working in an office job who wants to occasionally be able to 'Like' his children's BoxyDig Videos Games clips, Professor Venomous does, in fact, have a social media account. These are the stories behind his exhausted, fatherly, and often incredibly gay tweets.
Or to be more clear, I run an in character shutposting* account for Professor Venomous called @ProfSnakeInABox pretty much entirely for my own amusement as a way to vent small doofy jokes and ideas while I work on longer fic in the background. Then I got seized by the notion of writing out the scene leading from one of these tweets and here we are~
*Not a typo, just OK K.O. is too G-Rated a universe to have swears and 'poopposting' felt off.
Venom's not really used to liking someone so much. Most people in his life are just... there. Or are Fink. Only now he can't get Boxman out of his head.
Well. Maybe by the time he's gotten used to that, he'll be able to get used to having someone to rely on. Or someone he can wake up next to. Or who he wants to take care of. Or...
A series of loosely connected scenes of shameless Voxman fluff, on the theme of Venomous thinking about the man who's stolen his black heart.
Chapter 1: After the events of Villains Night Out, Professor Venomous takes the long route home to luxuriate in the nights events. OR: 'Venomous tries to out-drive his gay thoughts, and fails'.
Chapter 2: Directly after 'All in the Villainy', Professor Venomous seeks out Boxman in his workshop for comfort.
Chapter 2: Venomous hates waking up in the morning, but it might not be so bad, these days...
Inspector Zenigata stalks through Lupin and Jigen's most recent hideout, hot on the trail after a few weeks off the case. Overconfidence has done him in before... but he's never been too good at noticing when he's walking right into a trap. Still, when a man goes looking for trouble...
...sometimes they find him.
A piece I wrote for the Lupin III After Dark Zine.
It doesn't really MATTER what Lupin the Third was after in Cagliostro; It's not the first time Inspector Zenigata has gone through hell and back to chase his quarry. But it might be the first time he's been this close to him, as they sit together in the dark tunnels of Cagliostro. And it's certainly the first time he's seen Lupin this... roughed up.
Or so cold.
What can a man do, but try to keep his rival a little warmer...? Even if it means he might get a little closer to his foe then he meant to allow himself to. There's a first time for everything, after all...
The full expanded text version of a piece I wrote for the Lupin III White Day Zine!
Ever since he'd turned twenty, Venomous had dealt with chronic fatigue syndrome. He learned to survive, to deal with the hospital visits and the testing interrupting his daily life. When another minor crisis causes him to be hospitalized, he doesn't expect anything to be different. He expected to be out by the end of the week. He didn't expect to meet him.
But can the love of one man and his eccentric family really bring a new fire to this tired man? Or is it too late to make up for a history of self sabotage and regret?
