"Did you just… burn yourself?" Jenna's voice jars Theo, making him stumble a bit as he turns toward the entryway.
"Uh…"
"Theo, I've never once seen you or Liam burn yourselves in the kitchen. And trust me, my son used to do it all the time before… y'know." Jenna drops his hand and huffs. She crosses her arms and searches his eyes as he bites his lip in lieu of a response. "I know I'm gonna sound like such a parent right now, but you know you can come to me, right? With anything."
Theo scrubs his uninjured hand across his eyes roughly and nods.

Liam shrugs, but Theo can see the way he’s not relaxed, shoulders tight, “we thought we were going to die. Maybe it was just… The adrenaline.”
Theo blinks, then thinks we’re both idiots because here he’s been for the past two weeks debating over and over again with himself whether Liam thought anything of the kiss, and here Liam has been, thinking the exact same.
“I didn’t kiss you because I thought we were going to die,” Theo says, even though he did, just a little bit. But that’s not the point he wants to make right now. “I did it because I wanted to.”"

Summary
A (very) dark look at Robby’s fucked up life through the ages.
A/N: Okay - so this is turned out to be more than I was expecting. I was planning on doing vignettes from different ages, but after catching up to the present, it kept going on, becoming something lighter and more hopeful in the process. So I'm splitting it in two and continuing the story in a more positive sequel.
But that one would stand on its own too, I hope. If this stuff is too dark for you, then you can skip it and go directly to the next one.
