Summary
Four years ago, Park Jimin had wanted out of the Jojikpokryeokbae and he had done everything, going as far as to deny and defy Jeon Jungkook, the boss’ son, to do it. He’d gotten away with it only because he knows at the time, Jungkook could not kill him, and his leniency was an act of mercy as much as it was a moment of weakness. Circumstances have changed now and Jungkook is chasing after him, or more specifically, the heir to the largest Korean syndicate.
“Did you really think you could hide this from me?” Jungkook asks, voice clipped. He looks older than he should, his eyes a dark void set in his face. There isn’t a trace of warmth there, nothing that resembled the Jungkook he used to remember.
Jimin wills his hands to stay steady even as he reluctantly backs up, tries to get closer to the door (the room's sole point of entry and exit). He curses under his breath as he accidentally jostles the weight in his arms, his son- their son- stirring in his sleep. “I did well enough for this long.”

“Jungkook, can we just not?” Jimin asks, close to begging if he’s going to be honest. “This is supposed to be a fun experience. We can deal with the personal stuff later."
“The cameras aren’t even on.” Jungkook mutters bitterly, looking behind him for a quick second to confirm that Hoseok had stopped filming. “You’re too good at running away from things you don’t wanna face.”
“Yah,” Hoseok cuts in before either of them can say anything else, probably noticing the way Jimin’s lips are pressed together and his eyes are falling into that look where he pretends he’s not interested in their conversation. “I don’t want to get into whatever this is going on between you two because this is your business alone. But Jimin’s right, this is something for BTS. Don’t be selfish by breaking the mood. We’re already dealing with enough as it is. You can argue when we’re in Bergen, but for now you have to get along.”

Summary
Sometimes Jimin wishes they would fight. Being married to Jungkook is like not being married at all, and to Jimin’s tender age of thirty-five, he’s a little sad about what his life is coming to. This wasn’t what his mother wanted when she pushed for Jimin and Jungkook’s marriage, but this is what they had now. They tried, of course, to develop a better relationship. But when they’re both practically cheating on each other with their jobs, it was next to impossible to go past a mere acquaintanceship.
In another life, maybe he and Jungkook got along really well, in another maybe they don’t and would end up quarreling a lot. Jimin spares a minute or two every now and then to think about what being truly married to Jungkook would feel like. How would Jungkook treat him as his husband if they had the time to be with each other.
It's a thought he honestly (a little sadly) considers silly and fleeting, until the time comes where it isn't and it becomes a reality.
