Summary
Emma almost has everything. She's got a wonderful son, a beautiful, tender friend and co-parent, and a family she can count on. It was all she ever dreamed of, once upon a time. At times, she thinks she finally understands what authors mean when they end their story with: they lived happily ever after.
But the feeling always leaves her by the morning. Sometimes she thinks her real happy ending has disappeared somewhere in the past, somewhere in between the curses and forgotten memories. And now it is only a possibility lost to her memories.

Have they thought about it a time or two? Sure. Do they catch themselves staring at parts of each other they shouldn't? Well, yeah. Do they sometimes imagine doing things that friends definitely shouldn't do? Of course. But they know it would never happen. They both think the other would never want them in that way. And besides, sex just complicates things anyway. They're best friends. That's all they'll ever be.
It gets harder to believe that when they do start fucking.

With Robin leaning forward, they find themselves in the same height and it is impossible to keep their eyes from meeting in a gentle side-glance. The anxiety in blue eyes writes obvious and it needs to be soothed and so, Nancy pauses for a minute, offers a small, titled smile. It works and the anxiety seems to melt away for a moment, replaced by so much warmth that Nancy doesn’t know what to do with it.
She clears her throat. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
You’re stupidly pretty and please, don’t die on me and I’m about to use a damned gun for you; the answers kind of crash together in Robin’s head.

Nancy is teaching Robin how to shoot a shotgun in case music doesn't protect her from Vecna, as the Party cannot be left without a sharpshooter. They are both in for a couple of discoveries.
