Suddenly serving as the surrogate carrier for Miles and Keiko’s unborn baby has been much harder for Julian than he lets on. Being nourished and read to and massaged and generally doted on night and day by a crowd of his closest friends is unquestionably lovely – yet even now, after five months, all the attention has somehow failed to satisfy him completely. Only when Garak leaves DS9 on an away mission, and a parting hug goes on a minute too long, does Julian realise what he desperately needs: cuddles. Once Garak is back, they’ll be doing a lot of that. An awful, awful lot.

I think they just didn’t like the fact that I was being ungrateful about all the so-called “wonderful gifts” they’d given me. They’d already spent so much time and effort on their project of building me into their ideal child, so to hear me say that I couldn’t stand to be in the “perfect” body that they’d risked everything for me to have... well, I’m sure it must have been oh so very difficult for them.

Summary
After the Civil War and after the fight in Siberia Tony Stark is left in a coma with little chance of recovering. Even if he wakes up betrayal and the cold of Siberia had taken much from him already. Vision calls in someone that might help and Pepper is left with a choice she knows may bring only anger and hatred from the man she knows she's not strong enough to live without. Not knowing the threat looming closer to their realm Pepper tries to save Tony and gets surprised by those who support the genius when they see what his own friends did to him.
