“I don’t know what you’re talking about, ma’am! I’m just your friendly neighborhood—shit.” He winces when the stab wound they both seem to have forgotten about gets jostled as he tries to run away. Inko grabs his arm in a way that makes him feel like a five year old again.
“Izuku, I swear, if you don’t take off that mask right now I’ll ground you from all vigilante activity for a month.”
She takes off her sweater and presses it to her son’s stab wound. Izuku rips off his mask to reveal an incredulous expression.

Summary
Midoriya Izuku was not a confident person, but he had confidence in two truths: he would never be a hero, and he would never have a soulmate. That's just how it went for Quirkless, Markless people like him. Once he got over the shock of it, he was able to separate himself from that pain and pour all his energy into something else. Creating SoulMeet changed nearly everything about his life, except for those two truths.
Bakugo Katsuki grew up knowing exactly who his soulmate was. It was so obviously Deku. What he couldn't figure out was why Deku never said anything to him about it. Well, that was just fine. He didn't need anyone. Or so he thinks. As he grew up away from Deku, seeing his friends pair off with their own soulmates, he wondered if it was too late for him to be someone Deku wanted.
