They are monsters, whatever they really are, shells they fill with what understanding they can scrape together of the human form and he- he is garden they harvest from. They still smile, well trained in propriety, though Elias’ eyes slide to Peter instead. He’s rather glorious like this, Elias will admit, raw and cruel in such lovely packaging. Maybe as a thanks he’ll allow himself a few moments to dwell on their own farce, the dance around each other as though the final steps won’t be sliding a knife in the other’s back.
