Post island. Everyone goes back to school and Leah and Fatin are always together. Leah can’t seem to sleep without having gruesome nightmares and Fatin can’t sleep at all. But they sleep well in each others arms.

“Toni, Martha,” fatin starts
“Yeah, we got it. You really think I would even consider abandoning her.” Toni questions, swinging an arm around her bestie.
“Look all I’m saying is we are lucky we each have someone with us. Thats the one fucking thing that bitch did right.” Everyone silently nods in agreement.
“Yeah but the same goes for you man. Remember those first few days? You two hated each other. Don’t go back to that.” Toni points between the Californians.
“Never.” Fatin states, also putting her arm around Leah.

Summary
And as much as she reminds herself that she chooses not to get tight with girls for very good reasons, she can’t help but to feel like maybe Leah could be a decent friend. Just, like, an in-school friend. Someone Fatin can talk to during chemistry or in the halls if they pass each other. Maybe at school functions. Except Fatin has to acknowledge that she swallows down disappointment when the final bell rings and Leah’s not seated at their lab table.
Or, Fatin accidentally catches feelings for a friend she shouldn't have made in the first place.
