Summary
"Smoking, Granger? What a dirty habit. And here I thought you were a good girl?" His tone was...teasing. Dripping in honey as he pronounced the last two words and Hermione gulped.
He's teasing her? For a moment, a strange warmth swept her body as she realised how normal that felt. How normal it was for him to tease her like that. It was light. Probably fun to him. She had hated it at the time, but looking back— compared to everything she had just went though— it really wasn't so bad.
________
Hermione Granger isn’t the same anymore. That’s what everyone keeps telling her— and she can feel it in her bones.
When she’s required to return to Hogwarts for her eighth year, she tries desperately to return to some of the normality that her friends seek. She tries to be Head Girl. She tries to set a good example. She tries to be a good friend— a good person.
But the only one who seems to truly veer her off the path of her own catastrophic self-destruction is—as always— the last person she’d expect.
Draco fucking Malfoy.

Summary
Generalisation. That was the plague destroying his world.
There were three different types of blood, yet the Mudblood-lovers inside the Ministry wanted to recognise each one of them as merely wizards, as if the race itself has not been belittled by the predominating mediocrity.
The Wizarding World housed different types of magic, yet those not blessed by the almighty Albus Dumbledore were generalised as the Dark Arts; and those who dared practise it were generalised as Death Eaters.
Tom Riddle had dirty blood, but he offered the channel to change that Lucius Malfoy has sought after since he was made to endure mind-numbing boredom while waiting for clueless Mudbloods to keep up. He had joined the cause freely, he had been willing to make sacrifices.
He had never signed up for genocide, though. Never signed up to lower himself at the feet of a Half-Blood.
He persevered, however. On behalf of the upcoming success, he would be awarded with.
He had never planned on faltering. He had never planned on saving filth from their fated end by his own wand.
At least until he met her. A Muggle.
Weak. Pathetic. Immature.
And drained by the raw magic dormant inside her.

Summary
The words and the newborn smile died as the woman turned to face him.
Her mouth opened and her facial features became confused and astonished. “Malfoy?”
There were surely some deities - three at least - that hated him and conjured for that to happen, because there was no other explanation to what was happening to him.
It was a catastrophe.
A catastrophe Draco couldn’t escape unless he bolted out of the shop to never come back again, which was something he couldn’t do. That’s why he cleared his throat and proceeded to greet his customer with a simple and clear “Granger.”Bookmarked by elzie
