Tyler invites Michael Raffl to stay with him in the off season after he's traded.
When he cracks the door open, he can hear Tyler say “Hey, sorry! I wasn’t expecting you.” Late summer Texas heat washes over him and Michael grunts. He grabs his backpack from the passenger seat and hauls it over the center console. He tries to pull the bag between his chest and the steering wheel and the horn honks, loud in the quiet of Tyler’s driveway. It startles a laugh out of Tyler.
“Here.” Tyler says, sticking out his hand and still smiling. “Want me to get that for you?” Michael purses his lips to stop the smile. He nods and wiggles the bag over between his chest and the steering wheel. He yanks it out of the car by the top loop and Tyler grabs it by the strap and slings it over his shoulder. The movement causes the jacket to pull away from his collar bone a little. Given the amount of skin that’s on display, just a little more shouldn’t be all that distracting, but it’s Tyler, so of course it is.
Kent keeps bringing fruit home for Bitty to make jam. Bitty feels some kind of way about it, that's for sure.
Kent puts the box on the counter, stepping forward to tug Bitty into a hug. He kisses Bitty’s temple before Bitty turns his face into Kent’s neck.
“I can stop bringing you fruit.” Kent says, rubbing Bitty’s shoulders. Bitty laughs, a little wetly.
“Oh honey.” Bitty says, a little sad. This boy. “It’s not that at all. I just.” He thinks about Jack and Tater and Snowy in his kitchen last year, and mashing blueberries until his hands cramped and Jack bought an immersion blender for them. He presses his nose into Kent’s collarbone and takes a deep breath. “Where do you even keep getting all of it?”

Marcus goes in to get a tattoo, and is immediately smitten for the artist, Esca.
Loosely based on that one tweet about the person who was getting a tattoo and the artist touched their back and said "oh honey" and their soul left their body.
“Well, go on, take it for a spin. It’ll last a couple of days before it starts to fade. Wash it really good with alcohol to get it off if you hate it. Call for an appointment when you’re sure.” Marcus nods.
He grabs his shirt, tugs it on and then his jacket. Esca nods, Marcus dismissed.
Marcus makes it 10 minutes away before he’s dialing the number he’s got saved in his phone.
“Hi, this is Marcus. I’d like to make an appointment with Esca.” Marcus can almost hear the smile in his voice.
“Marcus, what the fuck? I told you to take some time to think about it.” Esca sounds exasperated over the phone and Marcus imagines the crease between his brows, the displeased purse of his mouth. It makes something light in his chest.
Just a short Protagonist recruits Neil with flirty smiles and Neil graduating college.
Could be read as gen, but it's intended to be romantic.
“Good eye.” Neil says. “I’m Neil.”
“I know.” He must see Neil’s eyebrows raise in surprise, because he continues. “I’ve had my eye out for someone like you for a while.”
“Someone like me?” Neil has a Master’s degree in physics. He’s either going to further his education, which means more loans, or find a job, which means paying his loans. Neil imagines himself in a white coat in a lab and mentally recoils. There’s no way that someone with a suit like that is looking for Neil.
“Your advisor sent me your thesis. It’s fascinating stuff.” Neil feels his face heat up, the triple thump of his heart accelerating.
A fluffy coda to chapter 3 of my much longer work I'll keep these crooked ways, from Connor's POV after Gavin falls asleep.
Connor attempts to make sense of this. “You. Want to what? Date? Both Gavin and I?” Connor knows what Polyamory is, but he hadn’t considered that Gavin or Nines would want that. And Especially not with him.
“If dating is what we decide to call it, yes. And again, we both want you to be included in our relationship.”
