“Chimney says that Eddie’s been moping,” Maddie said airly as she fixed herself some breakfast.

He vaguely remembered a Chimney on the roster when Buck had maybe googled Eddie’s name after he couldn’t sleep. If it was because he couldn’t stop thinking about the way Eddie’s hands curved over the slope of his waist, then that was between him and his search engine.

“Since when have you been talking to a hockey goalie?”

“Since you and the hockey power forward went and drunkenly made out on the dance floor,” Maddie said as she settled a plate of breakfast in front of him. “Eat.”

    Summary

There are a variety of demons that escape Hell from time to time. Hell, which seems to exist on some other plane of existence, overlaps with some places of the ‘normal’ world, making it easier for them to cross over - their jailer, Lucifer, has been at war against Heaven for eons now and encourages his people to create as much chaos as they possibly can. Some places in the world therefore see more demonic possessions than others.

Nicky has been taught all of this. Yet, in his many years of working in the field he is still to perform an exorcism in Rome. It is no wonder the demons don’t dare to show their faces here - it is too close for comfort to the power of the church and Rome, in all its ancient glory, was built as a demon’s trap.

It was one of the reasons he, like so many of his brethren, had chosen to lay down his roots in this city.

It was also the main reason why he believed his friendship with Joe to be safe.

He shoves his hands into the pockets of his coat as he makes his way towards the neighborhood where Joe and his research assistant will be living for the next four months, and steadfastly tries not to think about how the contact file on his phone that used to read "Dr. Yusuf Al-Kaysani (Jerusalem)" now simply reads "Joe". Or how there is now a photo attached to that contact file, which means whenever Joe calls him Nicolò’s phone screen lights up with a selfie of Joe in a backwards baseball cap on a sunny day somewhere in Bloomsbury.

Modern AU. Father Nicolò is on holiday in Jerusalem when he runs into Professor Al-Kaysani in a Museum. They disagree about art history and a war of words begins. There's definitely no other reason these two guys decide to start hanging. I'm bad at writing summaries. It'll get gay.

    Summary

“It’s because of my nephew,” Nicky started. His new friend raised an eyebrow, gesturing for him to go on. “I was babysitting last week, and my sister gave me one job: to get him to eat the stewed broccoli she’d left. He’s still not got the hang of talking just yet, but he said he didn’t like broccoli. I asked if he’d tried it, and he said no, and I asked how he could be sure if he’d never tried.”

“Ah,” the man said, grinning. “Let me guess: You realized you’ve never tried sex with a man, so how could you be sure you’re really straight?”

“It seemed a rather blatant hypocrisy,” Nicky confessed.
