Summary
Time passes, he’s sure that the others are probably fine, no one’s reached out to say otherwise. Bobby’s taken an extra few weeks to focus on Athena and his family, there’s no word about Hen or Chim, nothing from Eddie, new floaters rotate into the station and Buck doesn’t even try to get to know them.

Summary
Because for Buck, it comes in waves, and the thing about waves is that they warn you they’re coming. The backrush pulls the water from the sand, away from the beach and towards the wave, and all the water that was up to your knees goes down to your ankles, and the more shallow it gets– the more water that wave sucks up– the more that’s about to come crashing down on your head.
So, when Buck starts to feel the pull, the fear starts to set in.

Summary
“You okay, Christopher?” Buck asks when Christopher hasn’t said a single word since getting out of the car.
“Yeah,” Christopher says, not taking his eyes off the view. “I just feel so…small.”
Buck and Eddie exchange a quick glance.
“In a good way or a bad way?” Eddie asks.
“Good, I think,” Christopher whispers, reaching for both of their hands.
“It’s a little overwhelming, isn’t it?” Buck asks, and both Christopher and Eddie nod.
Eddie kneels down on one knee and wraps both of his arms around his son, squeezing him tightly. He’s so much taller than Eddie when he does this now, almost a full head, and still growing like a weed.
“I love you so much,” he murmurs, “and I’m so glad we’re here together.”
“Me too,” Christopher says, tugging on Buck’s hand that he’s still holding onto, the other arm wrapped around Eddie’s neck. “All three of us.”
Eddie looks up at Buck, who’s watching them with so much warmth in his eyes it takes Eddie’s breath away a little.
“Yeah,” he manages to get out, still looking at Buck, who’s smiling now.~
on a road trip with christopher, buck and eddie finally work through their various traumas, and eddie faces his parents again.
