Waking up from death is not as dramatic as one would think. There was no strangled gasp and no screaming from the moments of your last death flashing in front of your eyes.
No.
Wen Xu just simply blinked awake. Memories of the moments of his death dancing before his eyes. The gleam of the saber coming at him, the deafening sound of slicing through flesh, the flash of intense pain, and… the moment of floating. And then darkness.
____________So was this supposed to be the afterlife? Was the afterlife located in a place like the Cloud Recesses? Or was this some sort of hell, that the Hell Judge imposed on him as punished for his past deeds? Was this supposed to be some sort of torment? Is the image of that person going to haunt him even in death?
The sobs came harder, and his breath caught in his throat, and Jiang Cheng decided that yes, this was his sort of hell, because what else can this be?
_________________One would imagine when you die you would either go back to the cycle of reincarnation or either be punished in the depths of hell. So, why is it that after they have died Wen Xu and Jiang Cheng were brought back to the past? How does this even happen, and why them?
