Alexis didn’t mean to fall in love with Twyla Sands. It just sort of...happened. She thinks about it more than she’d like to admit, trying to pinpoint the exact moment, but she can’t. It’s like she took a breath one day and suddenly Twyla was there, wrapped around Alexis’s heart the way Twyla’s apron wrapped around her waist.
God, this was a lot to think about during a Monday morning subway commute.

Hello, I am Wendy Kurtz, proprietor of the Blouse Barn Divorce Ranch, the world’s premier spot for couples looking to get a speedy divorce and connect with other soon-to-be divorcees.
I’d like to highlight the stories of five couples, who rearranged into five other couples, from some past summer. These ten people came to the Blouse Barn Divorce Ranch with the intention of ending a marriage, and got that and so much more.
I could recount their journeys with 100% accuracy, but where’s the fun in that? Let’s let them tell us themselves.

Summary
TK might feel numb, he might feel like everything is grey, but for Carlos, TK burns bright; there’s something shining in him that Carlos is inexplicably drawn to, wants to draw the embers out of him so he can see it for himself. He doesn’t even know TK, not really, but he knows this – TK is good. He’s beautiful. Carlos wants him to feel like it.
So Carlos waits for TK to come to him, he makes him feel good, he gives TK whatever TK will let him give and tries to bank the sparks in his chest that are threatening to grow into something more. It’s not enough, but it’s what he can have.
Besides, he hates being the one to do the chasing.
OR
Carlos struggles to hold back his feelings when he finds TK on his doorstep.

He needs to lose himself in the incandescent feeling of Carlos’ tongue or his lips or his fingertips. He needs to chase the high of being with someone who is so out of his reach and so easy to touch at the same time.
He doesn’t deserve it. Tonight, he’ll take it anyway.

This is kind of a departure for me, the author wrote in the opening notes. I don’t usually write shippy stuff for Charlotte, but the other day I thought, what better way than fic to explore wanting to hook up with a guy but not being able to go through it because you’re maybe interested in your friend, instead? Maybe that’s TMI 😌
“Ooh,” Alexis says to herself, intrigued. Her earbuds are in within minutes, and soon the podfic starts to play.
When Alexis lands in Schitt's Creek, she turns to fanfiction and podfic to get through it. She just never expects to hear Twyla reading fic...

Summary
“We were between Honduras and the tip of Mexico when we went down.” He draws an X in the dirt. The area of the ocean that Carlos gestures to with his stick seems so miniscule, but TK knows it’s likely thousands of square miles. “We may have gotten slightly off course when we lost control, but yeah,” he slides his foot over the picture, effectively wiping it away. “It’s a start.”
His eyes are stormy and his brow is furrowed. TK wants to smooth it out with his thumb, he wants to wash the dirt off his neck and ask him why he looks like he’s holding the weight of the world on his shoulders, but all he can do is nod and hope the rescue team can find them as easily as the map made it seem.
