News anchors are stationed nearby, blue fire rages over buildings, but the only ash in the air is from the thousands of flyers that drift from city rooftops to the ground.
On top of a bus stands Midoriya Izuku. His unremarkable green hair seems wild in the harsh light of Dabi’s flames. He’s flanked on either side by Shinsou Hitoshi and Yaoyorozu Momo, and in formation around them is the League of Villains.
People run screaming from the display, and news anchors know better than to get too close to the action when the League of Villains is involved– they’ve been known to injure and even kill bystanders on a whim.
The linchpin of the new group seems to be Midoriya Izuku, and as he laughs in an unhinged way and raves about the injustice of hero society, nobody is interested in what he’s saying so much as the fact that he is saying it. He’s gone off the deep end.
The pamphlets that litter the ground and begin to circulate online (even as the hero commission tries to censor them) read with just one line of text in red writing against a black background:
"Watch Your Heroes Fall"
Izuku always wanted to be a hero, until he saw what being a hero meant. So he found a better way to help others.

Izuku, on a mission tracking a kidnapper in Hokkaido, calls Eijirou at midnight, and Eijirou misses the call. When he can't get in touch with Izuku after, it's a race against temperature and time to find where the kidnapper hid him in the sub-zero city during a power outage.
"You got me?"
"Anything for you, shortstack."

“Shinsou!” he says with a grin, “You totally saved my ass at USJ, thanks!”
Hitoshi scoffs at him, something derisive. To himself, he’s thinking that Kaminari started it. Hitoshi couldn’t have taken on all four villains himself. Without Kaminari frying them (and frying himself with the backlash), Hitoshi would have been fucking toast.
Kaminari waves Hitoshi’s cold shoulder off and invites himself to sit next to him at lunch. The whole forty minutes of lunch, Kaminari talks Hitoshi’s ear off about support items and practical exercises and “Your quirk worked on me even when I was dumb, right? That’s so cool! I’ll be honest, my guy, it was super scary until you took over. I can’t really, like, I dunno, process stuff right or whatever when I’m like that– I know it’s stupid– but when you took over it was like, ‘oh, it’s okay,’ ya know? I dunno, it sounds stupid when I say it out loud.”
Hitoshi feels his ribs squeeze and tangle together. He mutters, “Don’t do that.”
Even though the cafeteria is loud, Kaminari hears him. He laughs, “Sorry, sorry, I know I tend to just kinda ramble–”
“No,” Hitoshi cuts in, “don’t call yourself stupid.”

"It’s clearly not Todoroki Shouto– hair’s too short, different scars (even though the obvious one matches), and he holds his face like he’s balancing something on his nose, or like he’s just a huge fucking asshole. But it also definitely looks like Todoroki Shouto– candy cane hair, That Scar in the exact same shape, and the tense of his shoulders is just the same. But if it was actually Todoroki Shouto, he’d be walking hand in hand with fucking Deku so it’s not him. So Katsuki initially comes to the conclusion of a secret Todoroki twin– they already hid one brother for, like, 15 years when everyone was younger, Katsuki would not be surprised if they did it again."
Or, a version of Todoroki Shouto from a different universe claims to need Bakugo Katsuki's help "fixing" their timeline, and Bakugo quickly realizes that, to save them, he needs to fix a mistake he made in middle school. He has to talk Deku off the edge that he pushed him to.
