“Why is Basilton vomiting in the bathroom?” the Mage asks. I can’t tell if he’s smiling or frowning. His entire face looks wrong. His mustache is throwing me off. It’s like an upside down mouth. I can’t tell which one is curved up and which one is curved down.
“Uh,” I say. “He got poisoned.”
The Mage’s eyebrow goes up.
“I got poisoned too,” I say, because now that I’ve started lying, I can’t stop. “We poisoned each other.”

“Aizawa, are you sure I’m the best person for this job? There are a lot more qualified people on campus. People who have been teachers for years, and—”
As All Might spoke, Midoriya Izuku crawled the length of the couch, ducked under All Might’s arm, and made himself comfortable on his lap. All Might’s hands rose into the air, as though unsure of what to with his arms now that he had a toddler curled against his stomach like a cat seeking the warmth of its owner.
“Um,” All Might said.

“Wait.” Uraraka spins away from Izuku, and addresses the party as a whole, “We haven’t done Room King this year!”
“But we don’t live in the dorms anymore,” Shouto says.
“Like that’s going to stop us!”
And that’s how Shouto ends up leading three dozen of their friends and family around their apartment. Their former classmates make small assessments about the colour scheme, the furniture, and it almost feels like they’re back at high school again, circling the dorms and laughing at everyone’s decorating styles.
Except, this time, their family is here too. This time, they’re showing off their life: their kitchen full of leftovers; their bedroom with Tenya’s pyjamas discarded on the bedspread and Shouto’s book earmarked on the bedside table; their spare rooms with boxes still piled up in the corner and Izuku’s hero collection spilling out of the cupboard.
(Post-graduation, Izuku, Tenya, and Shouto move into an apartment and start the Ingenium Hero Agency. It's not easy. But they make it work. Together.)

Aizawa glances from All Might to Midoriya quickly. It sounds impossible—he’s never heard of a quirk that can be handed down like a family heirloom—but at the same time, it makes perfect sense. Midoriya’s inability to use his quirk at the start of the year. The strange, familial relationship between All Might and Midoriya. The slow malnourishment of All Might’s body, like his power was being siphoned away.
“You’re …” Aizawa begins.
“I’m All Might’s successor.” Midoriya’s proud but shaky voice rings clearly down the empty corridor.
Aizawa finds out about One for All.

Shouto had imagined himself as the country’s top hero for decades. Endeavour had put those images in his head when he was a child, and they had stayed there, growing like a fungus, until Shouto had reached adulthood. Even now, he was only just beginning to realise he didn’t have to live his life according to almost thirty-year-old decisions made by his abuser. He could do more. Be more. Outside of the hero community.
Izuku gets a job offer in America. Somehow, this brings Shouto and Izuku closer than ever before.
