As she made her way towards the shop’s exit, Ted waved at her, and for some godforsaken reason, she ended up waving back.
Back on the street, she took a tentative sip of her tea and tucked the box of biscuits more securely under her arm.
“What in the fuck,” she mumbled to herself, “was that?”

He looks up to find her staring right back at him expectantly.
That’s the first thing he notices. The second is how goddamn adorable she looks, his heart involuntarily swelling a little as he eyes her from top to bottom. She has a silly Christmas sweater on, one that has those cliche designs covering the front, her bright red hair falling over her shoulders and complimenting the blush on her cheeks and nose, face still flushed from the cold outside. He thinks he might’ve let his eyes travel all over her for too long when she takes a step to let herself in the room.
