Summary
And why shouldn’t they be able to mix and match? Isn’t that the point of all this? It’s clear all of them have similar interests: namely, each other. Eddie is willing to explore whatever terrain the universe presents to him, and it’s not like he’s looking outside their little four-person cube. Their setup has organically resulted in Richie being his primary partner, and the same between Ben and Bev; but Eddie feels a lot for Ben, and he knows Richie does, too.
But it still feels... uneven.

“What the fuck, dude, I’m not allowed to go on vacation because you’re on vacation?”
“Not here! Not where I was very clearly going on vacation first.” Eddie’s arms are flailing at the speed of light. Richie watches them in abject wonder. “What the fuck are you— is this some kind of joke?”
Richie huffs. “Yeah, this is a fucking joke, man, alright? I’m really getting into situational humor and I thought I’d set us up for the week. A little too sitcom-y, or can you dig it?” He grins, his janky front tooth peeking down from under his stupid lips. His hair’s a fucking mess, but it looks effortless and Eddie fucking loves it, and that reignites the rage. That, and the fact that Richie fucking Tozier just showed up to stay in the house behind him while he… tries to get over Richie fucking Tozier.
Perfect.

Summary
Eddie’s had this alarming habit recently of staring at Richie’s face while Richie is talking and completely tuning out whatever Richie is saying to instead scrutinize each one of his physical characteristics and decide whether or not he finds them attractive. It’s probably flattering because, on the whole, his judgment is: attractive. But the entire exercise has an air of anger and incredulity that makes it difficult for Richie to feel too smug about it. Eddie thinks Richie’s ears are cute and he wants to bite them, but he’s fucking pissed about it, apparently.
Or, Richie has a side-effect from the deadlights: he can read Eddie’s mind.
