It was evening. The Briar Valley’s prince was busy with paperwork when stacks of parchment were placed on his desk, and magenta-hued eyes glinted in soft mischief as Lilia Vanrouge waved one such collection before him.
“Malleus,” his guardian called, still smiling mysteriously. “Guess what these are? These are the letters you exchanged with your penpal before!”
The fae prince glared at his caretaker, unappreciative of this reminder. “And? What of it?”
“I simply had a favor I wanted to ask of you.”
