Summary
Everyone’s lost someone, her mind loops, snagging on Winter’s face as she came through the portal right before it vanished, blue-tinged flames pouring from glassy eyes, defeat visible in the curve of her spine. Everyone’s lost someone.
May should blame her for the situation they’re in now — should hate her for standing at Ironwood’s side for so long, after turning away from the extended hand of the Happy Huntresses that night they ran from the Academy. Should hate her for the arrests, for the propaganda, for the oppression, for the embargo, for the situation, for the outcome, for the result. But she can’t.
Its obvious Winter hates herself for everything May wants to despise her for already, so May simply doesn’t. She can’t and she won’t.

Summary
“Are you gonna tell her what you did to her friends?”
Marrow’s words linger like smoke long after he’s left. The memory of him is bitter on her tongue as he pleads with wide eyes, bordering on horrified as she told him about her duty and reminded him of his own. Her fingers feel numb as she pulls out her Scroll, tapping on it before bringing it to her ear.
She has a call to make.

Summary
She’s strangely aware of her lifelines - do they mean anything to you, she wants to ask, does my life mean anything to you now and if it doesn’t, will my death - she leans in, their noses brushing, Blake’s breathing as if she needs to, Yang isn’t and she does; teach me about magic, teach me about memory, tell me how I knew you before I knew myself--
What would you do if I kissed you? Yang asks. You're a goddess. Is that even possible, or would the world end?
Well, Blake says, let's find out.

“You’re not dying,” she said resolutely, like it was written in the stars. Maybe it was. Maybe it would be. “I promise you. As long as I’m alive, nothing will keep us apart. Not even death.”

Summary
You hold your breath, willing your weapon to reach her, to wrap around her leg or her arm, catch on her belt, anything. You watch as it rotates and flies out towards her, and with a dawning horror realize that it's not long enough. You watch as it runs out of slack, and snaps against the cold empty air where Yang had been but is no longer. You watch as she continues to fall- it seems to stretch on for millennia, time becomes incomprehensive as the moment seems to have no end- before her body turns to dust.

Summary
“Sounds good to me,” Blake says, meeting her eyes with a smirk.
Yang smiles back, holds her gaze for just a bit too long. She watches her ears twitch to the side ever-so-slightly. Sometime in the early part of the second semester Blake had started taking off her ribbon when they were all alone in their room, after Yang had asked if tying her ears up hurt at all. She doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable by staring, but recently there’s been something…addicting about watching Blake. She keeps turning to grin at her during lessons, keeps making sure she’s the one walking next to her in the halls, keeps sitting on her bed when they do homework. She keeps finding herself daydreaming about when Blake’s hands clasped hers during the dance.
It’s not like Yang’s afraid of falling in love, per se, but…it’s kind of like Yang’s afraid of falling in love. Only kind of. Sort of. But there’s no point in reflecting on any of that now.

((MAJOR SPOILERS FOR V8 C13))
“RUBY!”
And Blake knows what’s going to happen a second before it does, because she knows Yang, because Yang lunges forward, eyes flickering red, hair glowing a bright yellow, landing hereslf directly between Ruby and Neopolitan and taking the hit for her little sister. Her aura, running on fumes like the rest of them, shatters into shiny little specks of gold.
And then she keeps going.
Yang’s momentum keeps her moving forward; her head cracks on the platform, bouncing up, and-
