Summary

Summary
Richie became a single dad at a young age, having accidentally gotten his girlfriend pregnant. She ultimately decides to go through with the pregnancy, but at the last minute decided she didn't want the kid. Richie promised her he would take care of their son, no matter what; he keeps that promise.
At 4 years old, though, David starts having these nightmares. He refuses to sleep alone or leave his dad's side, so Richie calls his best friend- and his son's pediatrician- Stan.
“Listen, I’m gonna refer you to a therapist, okay?" he says, "He’s in-network and we were friends back in university, so I trust the guy. He’s a single dad, too. Maybe he can help you figure it out, I don’t know.”
“Thanks, Stan, seriously. It means a lot to me.”
He means that- what he doesn't mean is to fall in love with his son's therapist. -

“You know I have eyes for no one else but you, right?” Magnus asks anyway, because he wants his husband to know that he loves him and he always will.
“Of course I do,” Alec says, and there’s a but in there so Magnus just waits as Alec tries to articulate his thoughts, “But I think I’ve just been feeling a little insecure lately. We’ve talked about it, but…”
Right. Alec is getting older, he’s not on active duty anymore as Inquisitor, and training is no longer a part of his daily regimen. Those kinds of changes are bound to bring up thoughts of self-doubt, especially with the combination of a young Shadowhunter- who reminds Magnus so much of Alec when they first met, and surely Alec had picked up on it as well- coming into their lives and relentlessly flirting with Magnus.

Nicolò huffed and drew his knees up to his chest. “Well,” he said, “if that wasn’t what you were asking for, you could have just said so. You don’t need to insult everyone who’s used their –“
“I understand,” Yusuf cut in hastily before Nicolò could repeat himself. Then the last sentence hit him. “Everyone who’s…you mean this is commonplace? How?”
“Well,” said Nicolò, loosening his position just slightly, “not commonplace, exactly, but I wasn’t expecting you to be surprised. There are plenty of people who confessed to me that they’d done such a thing.” The same shadow that was apt to appear when he spoke of his past life shuttered down over his eyes, but it soon dissipated. “I was a priest, Yusuf. I’ve heard things.”
(Nicolò knows everything about sex - except how to do it. He still manages to surprise Yusuf with the confessions he's heard.)

“Yusuf,” the man said, pointing at him. He had to try a few times to get the intonation right, after which he carefully attempted the rest of Yusuf’s name, if with less success. It surprised Yusuf that he bothered, given what they’d been doing to each other. The man pointed back at his pale, gaunt face. “Nicolò di Genova.”
