I read straight through this story early in the morning when I was midkey hungover, and I guess I wanted a distraction from the utter humiliation of last night (holy shit, I nearly kissed my friend in the bedroom of another friend because I was feeling a little lonely -- kids, seriously do not drink and smoke at the same time... help). I came here needing distraction from a crisis and instead got smacked in the face with another one, welp. You might wanna disregard everything I wrote before this... let's talk actually about the story.

I'm going to be real with you, anything this author writes is just fabulous. Wonderful take on the first Karate Kid movie, and I like the incorporation of the deleted scenes. Characterization is on point, as always. Can't wait to read more!

This was great! I adore fics that delve into MI-6 dynamics, especially between Q Branch as well as our favorites including Q, Bond, Eve, Tanner, and M. Loved the original characters (R, Farid, Sam, Jessica!), and I had fun. Interesting plot that ties into Spectre, and I had fun reading it. Fluff with a good dollop of action.

Amazing. Lovely tie-ins to canon. Wonderful descriptions of artwork, but I think the story is also a piece of art in of itself. Intriguing dynamic between Sam and Steve; Sam and Bucky is super precious, especially at the end. <3 Honestly, I can't get enough of Sam's POV. Love that man.

That seems to be the thing that breaks the ice between them; Bucky's never really hung out with Sam before, past being jammed into a too-small car for six hours and then two uncomfortable months in a safehouse trying not to get on each other’s last nerve. Now they’re getting lunch or coffee every few days. Sam falls asleep on Bucky’s couch three more times. Bucky joins him and Steve a couple of times on their morning run.

He doesn’t notice, is the thing; doesn’t notice how ever since Sam slept on his couch that night he’s been letting Bucky closer bit by bit, that as Bucky’s been wondering about the boundaries and structures of friendship, Sam’s been drawing in.

Great. That’s just– great. The town’s douchebag, just what she needed.

He rolls down the window, lays on his charm, giving her the kind of grin that makes the girls swoon in the halls. Too bad for him, really, this kinda shit isn’t gonna work on Robin. “Hey there, beautiful. You wouldn’t happen to have seen my sister, would you?”

Robin frowns, gives him an unimpressed look. Not really what she had been expecting, but better than being harassed. “Do I look like I know who your sister is?”

“Shit,” Sam says, staring at the thin golden ring on his finger. He blinks quickly, like he’s pushing through it all: the hangover, the too-bright sunlight, the pure insanity of this moment. Bucky watches the dark curl of his eyelashes, staring for just a second too long.

Sam blinks again, then starts to laugh. “Shit. Well, I guess we’ll have to file for annulment.”

And maybe it’s the leftover buzz of the alcohol, or maybe it’s the way that Sam has started to feel like safety to him, but something makes Bucky blurt it out; he clears his throat and says, “Yeah, or we could just stay married.”

Broke me and built me up again. Truly a gift wrapped in layers of domesticity, found family, and softness. Sam and Bucky made my heart sing, and Bucky's trauma made my heart hurt. Sam is one beautiful man. Did I nearly cry multiple times? Maybe. Maybe I nearly cried at Bucky working at the gym and Kate being such a great friend. Maybe I also cried near the end when it wasn't looking too good for them and maybe I got emotional over America/Kate being cute. Maybe I'm just a sucker for domesticity and like seeing people happy, I dunno.

The kind of story you feel blessed to read. A roller coaster of emotions I'd glady ride again. <33 so thank you!

Bucky is so competent that it hurts my feelings is not a rational complaint to have about a person, and yet, after a year of being Captain America and partnering up with Bucky for the new and improved, post-Blip Avengers, that’s kinda how Sam’s feeling.

It’s not great. It maybe leads to Sam making some rash, ill-advised decisions like claiming he has a previously undisclosed superpower, and then getting caught in a web of lies when he ends up actually developing that surprisingly inconvenient superpower. Talking to birds had seemed like a harmless superpower, but it turns out that birds have a lot of opinions, and they don’t hesitate to tell Sam about them, especially when it comes to his supposedly subpar courting skills. Which is ridiculous, because Sam isn’t courting Bucky. Right?

So much fun! Sam and Bucky were adorable, and the birds were so hilarious. Loved all the New York vibes of the fic, and the birds' accents matching the vibe is perfection. Interesting case, and I love how the author captured Sam's voice/POV.

I guess my only "con" would be Bucky's characterization, but it's understandable since the author wrote it before TFATWS. It's not a big thing at all and I still loved Bucky here regardless, but something about his character made me think of Castiel from Supernatural and I absolutely abhor the fact my brain made that connection.

Anyway, besides that, this was great!! <333 much love

Incredible worldbuilding (loved all the animal stuff) and delves deep into magical theory (wand, will, word, and WILD!). Truly unique and shows a BAMF Harry who is willing to what it takes to achieve his goals (helping his parents, Voldemort, etc). Intense, heartbreaking, and demonstrates some really great writing. Harry's relationships with Minerva, Terry, Neville, and Regulus were beautiful. <3

All Goro Akechi wanted was to be a well-respected detective. If that meant enduring a slew of meaningless fluff cases assigned by the higher-ups, so be it. If it meant spending his free time chasing after baseless rumors about a high school gang of self-described "social reformers", fine.

Except the rumors aren't so baseless after all, and as he attempts to catch these 'Phantom Thieves' in an actual, documented act of wrongdoing, he finds himself becoming entangled with the gang more deeply than he ever intended - all thanks to their leader, who decided to take a special interest in him. An obnoxiously flirtatious interest.

“That’s disgusting,” he sighs, and Bucky makes deliberate eye contact, swallows another mouthful. Sam holds his gaze. “Cupcake, come on, I gotta drink that shit, stop putting your mouth all over it.”

“I’ll put my mouth all over wherever I want,” Bucky tells him. “Sweetheart.”

“Will you just,” Sam mutters, and sips his black coffee like he’s totally unruffled, and Bucky is startled to discover that he’s the one who’s blushing. Shit. Maybe this was a tactical error.

"And he doesn't believe in love at first sight, not really, but he thinks then that you must be able to love someone retroactively, that he might have fallen in love with Din over a period of time, but that once he did, that first moment they met he’d already been in love, that what he feels now spans backward and forwards in time, just one singular state of being, beyond any logic or reason."

I've been putting off writing the bookmarks for two other stories, but I immediately knew I had to write this one right away. (It's 4:39 in the morning. Yes, I know.) I was not expecting this ship of all things to make me emotional since I usually prefer pairings with heaps of canon material/interactions, but I truly think it's a testament to the writing that I've managed to be thoroughly convinced. In fact, this is precisely the kind of story of I've been looking for ever since I read a particular fic late August, a story that focuses on the characters' development and relationship with spoonfuls of heart, found family, and plot. Basically, the kind of story that feels like coming home. And... well, I found it. <3

As you may or may not know, I have a weakness for general badassery, but especially for two loving BAMFs who fight side-by-side together. Man, oh man, did the author capitalize on that weakness. Din and Luke were wonderful together. I loved the inner explorations of Luke's psyche, the various angles he has a person, and his battle with the darkness. I loved Din's love of his people and the brightness he carries in his heart; I loved little Grogu growing up with Ben and Poe. I loved Luke and Leia's relationship and Leia being scary like her father; I loved Han being a good father and friend, and I loved how gentle the story was with the love Din and Luke shared for each other. Most of all, I loved this clan of mismatching people who end up fitting quite well together in the end and how Din/Luke face things together.

(This is season 3. Change my mind.) Thank you for writing such a beautiful story with beautiful relationships. I think I needed this today. Soothes the soul with hope and joy.

    Bookmarker's Notes

I haven't even watched a full episode of BBC's Sherlock, but let me just say that No Bangs Without Foreign Office Approval is hands down one of my favorite pieces of fiction... ever. And I'm saying fiction without the fan. I usually don't like reading things fandom blind, but of course I had to read WW2 femslash longfic. God, this was wonderfully stunning.

There are so many things I could rave about from the characters to the worldbuilding. However, I would say the most impactful thing about No Bangs is the details. All the historical research made my heart sing. Anything with historical footnotes and links for further information has me a loyal fan. Small descriptions of things like women's clothing trends in the 40s, leg stubble, and black market items were super satisfying to hear. Hell, even the overarching plotlines and casefic stuff was excellently done too. Gonna be honest, longfics have my heart. I have to admire people who write that many words for freakin' free. All the research and time... gosh, bless AO3 writers.

The characters! It's all about the characters. I loved Sherlock and Joan so much. Their individual characterizations and their relationship was especially fascinating. Mycroft, Molly, and Sally were really cool too. All the relationships between them were nothing short of wonderful. I would say the main standouts are Mycroft & Sherlock and Joan/Sherlock.

Highly recommend! No Bangs needs more love. A great spy novel in its own right with just the right amount of heart and romance.

Song Dedication: Was I listening to Red (Taylor's Version) over the past few weeks on repeat? Maybe. Maybe I was also listening to the Silk Sonic album or the tick, tick... BOOM! soundtrack or oddly enough, the '96 Broadway cast recording of Jesus Christ Superstar. Anyway, the main point is that the rereleased Red album has some songs I would like to mention, particularly Nothing New (feat. Phoebe Bridgers) and Treacherous. Cheers!

    Bookmarker's Notes

I delayed writing this bookmark and I thought about what I'd write the whole day. I was going to mention that I've been a little stressed lately; Thanksgiving is coming up and I have some projects/papers due soon, and I am legitimately about to write a paper on the book I finished today. I'm getting a little fearful of the juries for my voice lesson next month, and I've been feeling a little down lately. But as I'm listening to newly released Red (Taylor's Version) album and thinking about how much joy this fic brought me, I'm feeling a little better. Gosh, I love this site and the creators on it. My dear lifeline. <3

I really dug the characterizations. I love how the author really capitalized on Jim's intelligence, and sometimes I do think other authors underestimate it. I appreciated how quick and intuitive he was here, without losing that "cowboy" quality that makes him Jim Kirk. I also liked how much work went into Spock with his sometimes-hard-to-read dialogue and voice (it's the vocabulary, I swear, but this author definitely has him down pat). It felt very.... him (Vulcan-like), and reading between the lines/subtext with his feelings felt very satisfying. Amanda was really well-done as well, and Bones was perfect. Hey, I know Sarek isn't well-liked in the fandom (for good reason--how can you cut off your son like that?), but I'm going to be real with you, I really have a soft spot for him especially after what he does for Spock in the TOS movies. Thank you for doing him justice. Seeing all my favorites (gah, I may or may not be slightly in love with Uhura... also T'Pring... might be a trend here) in the Academy made me so happy.

    I've read other takes on the "Jim and Spock grow up together" concept, but this was a wonderful one, for sure. Vulcan provides an ample opportunity for worldbuilding and thought. Great character development, progression, and plot. A long but rewarding read. I never wanted it to end! ;-;

I woke up at five in the morning (thanks, Daylight Savings) and I've been awake since. I'm always a sucker for creative stories, and I adored the formatting. So, so entertaining and straight up made me laugh out loud! A great grasp on the characters and the team dynamics. A surprising amount of plot and an abundance of heart. <33 Never thought I'd read a fabulously written Streamer/Gamer AU but I love being pleasantly surprised by the creativity of the fandom. A truly well-executed chatfic, which I sometimes find to be rare.

    Summary

Adora dances through the strands of time programmed into the system. The first week, she jumps forward just a year or two — 2042, 2043, just before the breakup, back when they were still happy. In 2051, she sports the short, choppy haircut that was popular at the time. In 2066, it’s long, and dyed at the tips. She’s twenty two, over and over and over again, each weekend spent experiencing that age right on the cusp of adulthood as she weaves in and out of time periods, searching for Catra.

In the summer of 2044, she wanders past a sports bar and sees her own face, sweaty and breathless in an interview. Adora remembers this video — it was taken just before she received her first Olympic gold.

Adora keeps walking. There’s no way Catra would choose to be here.

    ________

Adora has never had much interest in the Etheria program, a virtual reality simulation in which those on the verge of death and dementia can relive their glory days, dancing side by side with the consciousnesses of the deceased — but when she runs into a familiar face while visiting a dearly departed friend, she finds herself tumbling back into a romance she thought she had lost decades ago.

Fabulous. Gently hold your heart and warms it. Beautifully written and demonstrates a stunning love that extends through time.

    Summary

AU. Azazel offered Mary a choice, and she did what she had to do. She looked him in the eyes when he offered to bring her dead boyfriend back to life, and she told him no.

Fifteen years later, she's divorced, a single mom, and living in the sort of quaint small town she used to dream about raising her family in. Enter a strange woman with a mute little girl, a woman who cracks through Mary's barely stable facade of a normal life. Featuring five tequila shots, four threatening angels, three fatherless children (maybe), two kickass women, and a platter of peanut butter brownies.

So brilliantly fantastic. Haven't had the chance to read 2nd POV in a while (flashbacks to my Quotev/Wattpad days), but this one was utilized wonderfully. I love this AU so much, and I was pleasantly surprised by the plot; the end definitely got me. Mary/Ellen is a ship I've never thought of, but I liked it here. Sam and Dean are such adorable little gremlins, and Jo is a cutie. <333 awesome
