Toshinori had a stern look upon his face as he said, “You might be able to lie to everyone else, but don’t think you can lie to me, Dave. I’ll always see through it.”
David gripped at the fabric of his pants so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He frowned and grumbled through gritted teeth, “Don’t you think I know that?”
“So tell me. I want the real story.” Toshinori tried again. He was prepared to continue this back and forth if necessary.
“It’s because I’m still in love with you, all right!” David had jumped to his feet at some point during that exclamation, but he didn’t even remember when.
Toshinori stood there in shocked silence. Of all the possible responses to his question, he’d never once considered an answer like that. He felt a flutter in his chest that he’d thought was locked away years ago. Evidently it was just dormant as it waited for its time to come. The soothing warmth was familiar and comforting. He could hardly believe it.
David’s brow knitted together with his frown. He turned his head away from the blond and muttered, “Say something.”

And a story about Harry, well, not hating his job per say, but it's not like he has much to compare it to and it seemed fine. His whole life seemed fine. Then Malfoy came along with and his flashy suits and fast car making everything seem dull in comparison, and Harry... Harry couldn't just leave well enough alone.
