Summary
When Jaskier looks over the witcher has his eyes shut tight, his whole body seeming pained. Jaskier realises he wants to soothe him, and the strength of feeling surprises him. He’s been too long without company.
“What happened?” the witcher says finally.
Jaskier blinks. “That’s quite a big question. I’m afraid you’ll need to be more specific.”
“With Nilfgaard,” the witcher clarifies, growling slightly. “It shouldn’t – it didn’t happen like this.”
In 1240, Jaskier the bard leaves Posada earlier than planned because of a devil in the mountains.
In 1263, three years after Nilfgaard conquers the north, Julian Pankratz, viscount of Lettenhove, hires a witcher and learns about the path his life should have taken.

When Jaskier was four, he slipped his mother’s watch and went to the field to gather a bouquet of dandelions. He climbed back into the yard, as stealthy as a child really cared to be, and crept over to the barn. In the barn, lived a secret. (The man he thought his father said the secret was a monster, a plague. His mother said the secret was his sister.)

Tim is a tiny lonely Drake. That's pretty much it. Shenanigans ensue when children are not monitored.
“I’m so screwed.” The kid breathed out, barely audible. Then he spoke a louder.
“You’re Dick Grayson aren’t you. Of the monster hunting guild.” The poor kid looked like he was about to start hyperventilating. There was were too many things wrong with that sentence to even begin to unload right now. The biggest questions being how did this child recognize him, and how did he know that he was part of the Hunters Guild?
