Summary
The sounds that mark the path are the rustling of wind through many branches, footsteps that aren’t his own, and whispering, unfamiliar voices. The latter two sounds have Grizzop moving cautiously, ears flicking to catch bits of conversations, but while this is an unfamiliar path, he’s more curious than concerned about where he’ll end up. There would be no path if his Lady did not wish it so, not here in Her own sacred space.
The trees around him have been changing slowly, oak and ash and pine gently giving way to the gigantic flowering trees from which the blue petals are falling. The flowers themselves have a delicate fragrance, their petals drifting around Grizzop’s ankles, as soft as fallen snow. Up ahead there is sunlight. It’s not the golden warmth of Sasha’s remembered Rome, but something paler. Winter light.

Hands grab him out of the water and he sinks his claws into cloth and flesh. The person who had picked him up squeaks in pain just like one of his litter-mates would have, but they don’t let go of him.
“Poor little thing,” the person says, holding him close. The kitten burrows against their coat, still crying. “Shhhh, it’s okay. I have you.”
The person takes him to a good place, a warm and dry place, gives him food and a name and love and becomes his Person.
Fearless Hunter Who Walks Silent Beneath The Unblinking Sky growls and paws at his head with one giant paw. There has never been anything but his City, his Territory. He’s never been so small and weak, never been afraid. Fear is for prey.

The dwarf peers down at him. “You’ve the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen.” Oscar rasps.
The pirate's mouth does a funny little frown and a crease appears between his eyebrows as he scrunches his face.
“Think he might be worse than I thought.” He says over Oscar’s head, in the direction of the pale woman.
“And what are we doing with him?”
The pirate scoops Oscar’s legs out from under him and hoists him up into a bridal carry. Oscar can see the inviting expanse of white chest hair peeking through the wide V of his shirt and indulges in his addled mind's desire to rub his face against it.

“What’s he—uh, you—talking about?”
“Nothing,” Martin insists at the same time the other Martin says:
“We’re wondering what it would be like for both of us to fuck you.”
There is absolute silence for a moment, broken only by the sound of the wind rustling the grass. Jon’s eyes go very wide.
“Oh,” he says eventually. “Really?”
