Bucky Barnes thought he’d had his life together once. He’d had a good job, a decent boyfriend, and his head on straight.
He’d never expected the car accident that tore everything apart. Never expected the shiny new prosthetic for a left arm, the loss of his job, or the shedding of weight in the form of a scumbag ex-boyfriend.
And when he had been trying to stitch the pieces of his life back together again, he certainly hadn’t expected a daring rescue from a burning building. Or for his rescuer to be his oldest friend and first love - Steve Rogers.

Steve Rogers should be having an awesome couple of days. First, he passed his sommelier exam. Then, he got hired to head up the wine cellar at his friend Tony Stark’s newest Downtown Brooklyn eatery, Iron. The head chef is his best friend from college, Sam Wilson, and the pastry chef is his other best friend, Peggy Carter...and his worst enemy and longtime hatecrush, Bucky Barnes, is the chief mixologist.
It’s not that Steve hates Bucky. It’s just that Bucky is the worst. In that way where Steve wants to punch him or make out with him. Whichever comes first.
Can love conquer all in this battle of wits, wines, and whiskies?
“Electrical surges with no source, and music coming from the air, and that damn baseball game no one was watching, and I swear I sometimes hear voices right on the edge of hearing when I should be alone,” said Tony. “What does that sound like to you?”
“Sounds like-” said Steve, then hesitated. Tony gave him a pointed look. “Sounds like a haunting,” he finished, reluctantly.
“Oh no,” said Clint, in tones of mock-horror. “Ghosts!”
Bucky laughed and kissed him. “Man, I hope they’re friendly.”
Clint and Bucky are haunting the new apartment that Tony bought in Brooklyn to try and impress Steve.

Steve's unending faith in his best friend was beginning to look less like hope and more like fantasy. When they'd caught the Soldier – in a fire fight that still gave Sam nightmares – the only thing the man seemed to recall was how to hit exactly where it hurt.
Four months later, Barnes still refused to speak English. Refused to heed anything but Steve's voice.
So, all in all, it was not a great time for Hydra to attack New York. All in all, Sam really wished they'd just killed him, instead of turning Captain America into a baby.

The front cover of every newspaper always sways public opinion. This fact led Tony to deduce that this was the reason everyone loved Steve so much because he was the media’s darling.
Yet that all changes when one of Tony’s disgruntled, ex-employees claims Steve to have sexually assaulted her. With the media’s exaggerated coverage, the people call for Steve’s head. And, with charges pending, Tony knows something just as sensational needs to be done to sway opinion again or Steve will be convicted based on public opinion alone.
…Which was how Tony came up with the idea of a fake, gay relationship and it would have been perfect. It was sensational, not just because Steve had not dated any one since he woke, but it was a homosexual relationship with Mr. Conservative and Apple Pie!! The media would froth at the mouth!
And it had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Tony had been pinning after his best friend for the last couple of years… Nope. It's just a coincidence.
