Re the occupation of Kaer Morhen after the end of Witcher 3 -- yeahyeah, you can't make me face reality.
Also, I'm not sure I buy into the idea that Kaer Morhen is cold, uncomfortable, and the food is foul. I mean, Geralt spends good game-time taking bubble baths, picking out clothes and changing how he does his hair. These are not men without appreciation for the little things. And if Geralt could tell Ciri about the need for rest during her training, he can't be blind to the need for a warm bed and comforting food, right?
