Summary
“It’s very lovely.” Kate said quietly. A shadow fell over her hand and she looked up from her seat. Anthony was standing over her with his eyes trained on her hand. He looked… stunned. Like he’d never seen a ring before.
“It has always gone to the Viscountess. Always will.” He said quietly, his breath brushing close to her cheek.
Kate somehow became aware that they were in a room full of people. Looking around, she saw Daphne glancing at Simon with a ‘Did you just see that?’ expression which he returned with an ‘Oh yeah, I saw that’ look. Kate sharply withdrew her hand from Anthony’s hold.
“Yes. Well. Very lovely.” Kate tried to pull off the ring. “I’m sure the next Viscountess will love it. I’m… sure...” She trailed off frowning, when she found herself encountering a problem: the ring didn’t want to come off.
OR
Kate gets the Bridgerton family ring stuck on her finger.
