Having lived his whole life with his father's cursed blood-which has been known to come out from time to time, especially under the command of his sister's music-Adelheid had always sort of tried to push it down and forget about it. He is now at the point where he no longer has that luxury; going berserk, even without any catalysts, means that if he does not get some sort of control of it now, it could threaten to destroy those close to him...and possibly himself in the process.
