Kirk/Spock/Uhura story where all of them heal one another, but mostly they heal Kirk. Beautifully written.

I don't usually like either reboot OR crack OR Spock/McCoy, but Janice Lester is so good at funny stories that I enjoyed this one, anyway.
The fandom has been speculating about Spock's genitals since the 60's, but the author has come up with something NEW, interesting, and funny.

"Captain’s Log.
We are in orbit around Outpost Zero, long considered to be part history, part space legend. The most mysterious of the Romulan outposts during the war, presumed destroyed…But apparently intact."
Investigating a long abandoned Romulan Outpost is bound to be interesting, but soon it turns out that the outpost is not as abandoned as it seems... Another of the TOS Season Four imaginary scripts.

Kirk has seventeen years of his life erased by a mind-eating squid and is shocked to discover that he's married to Spock and has two kids. He gradually falls in love with Spock all over again. The last chapter is especially nice.

Bookmarker's Notes
A story that manages to be humorous and insightful both at once. When weird alien technology turns Spock 100% human, he has trouble adjusting to a human body, to the senses, to the lack of telepathy, to the increased difficulty of emotional control. The author shows a lot more understanding of what this would actually be like than the authors of most fanfic, and they're to be congratulated for this story.

It's probably a phenomenally bad idea to let someone named Lucifer grant you seven wishes, but, well, why the hell not? Maybe then Jim can finally have that perfect command team from the other universe he so desperately wants.
Then again, wishing that Spock would loosen up a bit shouldn't land him in pre-Reform Vulcan.
Maybe he'll get it right next time.

Q gives Kirk seven wishes, and they're ALL about Spock. Usual Q stupid stuff, but still fun.

This is one of my all-time favorite stories -- I first read it several years ago on the K/S Archive -- and I give it my very highest recommendation!
In this story, Spock transforms a horrific prison -- one that he's incarcerated in at the time -- through the power of his goodness. The story ends in K/S, and while I do enjoy K/S, I find the celebration of Spock's goodness and its transformative power to be even more heart-warming.
So very recommended!

Post 'Requiem for Methuselah'. McCoy wants to take back what he said. Because even if the definition is a little different, he knows, better than most, that love IS a word in written in Spock's book. A very powerful word.

Bookmarker's Notes
An episode-like story. Kirk is clever enough to figure out a way around some intrusive alien technology, Spock does his best to save Kirk from a horrible fate at great cost to himself, and McCoy comes to a new understanding of Spock and proves to be a worthy and essential part of the team.
There's a little too much beating up of Spock for me to love this story unreservedly, but I found it riveting, and that's a strong recommendation.

After Spock mutinies and takes over the Enterprise to transport his former captain to the banned planet of Talos (The Menagerie I & II), Kirk is decidedly not pleased with the performance of his crew. He takes steps to take back command and control over his ship. A character and relationship power dynamic piece about Kirk and Spock.

I've read several stories that take place in the wake of the events of "The Menagerie," from Jane D's excellent "Common Cause" to KCS' definitive "All I Ask," but HeronS has found a NEW take on the matter that's just as likely, for all that it's not like anything else I've read.

"Bones tells me you have been naming constellations, Spock?" Jim asked with a grin. "I thought those were, let's see, 'illogical flights of fancy for the lazy mind'."
"For the simplistic mind, Jim, the simplistic mind." Bones corrected. "Trust me, I've heard that lecture several times the last few years."

After a particularly trying alien ritual, a very frustrated and aroused starship captain decides to teach his inappropriately amused Vulcan lover a lesson.

A story that feels a lot like an episode that Spock wrote. In other words, all the facts are perfect, but the emotional quality is rather muted. Still, it's a nice story for the more cerebrally inclined.
