Where Loki decides that the best place to stay hidden in all the realms, is right in the dead smack middle of Iowa.
He didn't mean to adopt a dog, or two, or four...Or a goat, a cat, a horse- wait, is that a lion?
Where Loki hides out on a farm and accidentally makes it an animal rehabilitation service and home for wayward or abused creatures. And of course, Clint's dog runs away from his farm and ends up in the middle of it all.
Connor glitches out and can't wake up. Hank finds him unresponsive on the couch and remembers the last time he had to carry a son.
When he spoke, his voice was precise and steady as stone. "I can't lose him now, Markus. I've felt it before, but I didn't understand then, I didn't know. I can't lose him. I won't."
Markus was officially scared now, especially when the younger prototype didn't offer up anything else. "Connor. Connor. Who is 'he'?"
The last thing Markus expected was for Connor to look at him, eyes earnest and wet, and say "Simon".
What would you do, if your short life had been one straight, ordered line?
Follow your objective. Do what you are told.
And then you take that life and break it into pieces.
Can you pick them up? Or should you start new again?

Ever since Steve and Tony's spat (also known as the pissing contest that tore the Avengers apart) things have been a little strained. They all cope with it in their own ways. Rhodey tries not to have a heart attack every time Tony says something that causes him stress, Natasha and Tony eat Chinese food in Tony's workshop and don't talk about anything important, Clint ignores all the advice given to him by Neil-the-therapist, and Steve continues to choose his unstable, manic depressive friend over his other equally-unstable manic depressive friend.
Enter, Peter Parker.
(Who would've thought it would be miscommunications about Tony's non-biological kid that bring the team back together?)
