Summary
It’s been a year since Weirdmageddon. The twins are going back to Gravity Falls for summer. It'll be as normal as Gravity Falls gets, and at least less intense.
But it might not be peaceful. Dipper’s been having nightmares of Bill Cipher all year, each one more terrifying than the last. He can’t stop thinking of what Bill is saying - that he’s alive and waiting for revenge.
Mabel’s been helping Dipper, but she’s got her own worries. She’s confused about who she likes, and it’s weighing on her. And if she doesn’t like guys… Will her friends and family still care about her?
Meanwhile on the Boiling Isles, Luz has been missing her mom desperately. She still has the key to the human world, and then, she has the idea to use it. But when she and King go through the portal, they end up in a strange and magical town. And King finds it weirdly... Familiar.
So: A traumatized boy, his twin questioning herself, a witch-in-training trying to get back to her mentor or family, and a demon who has the same voice as someone who nearly killed the twins. All the while two weakened witches are trying to get to the human world to get their adoptive daughter back. What could possibly go wrong?

Before the arrival of the Harvey’s, Casper had been mostly content with the lack of memories. The ever present knowledge that he’d had a life before this, but it mattered little beyond its existence. He was a ghost. His name was Casper. He lived with his Uncles in Whipstaff. He spent his days wandering the halls when he wasn’t working tirelessly for them or trying his hardest to stay out of their way. Wash. Rinse Repeat.
But memories were the same as chocolate. You could live your life without it happily.
Until someone gave you a taste.
Cross over, the memory of his father calls. If you just cross over, you'll remember. Me. You. Everything. He extended a hand. You with me?
And without looking back (at Whipstaff, at Friendship, at the Uncle's who wouldn't care), Casper followed.

Taako looks down to find the kid already asleep, nose squished up against Taako’s shirt. He’s breathing softly through his mouth like a fish, which somehow manages to be adorable. Disgusting.
“Some apprentice you are, dipping out right when I need you,” Taako mutters, but his chest is swelling with a weird, not-quite-painful-but-definitely-unnatural feeling. It’s like pressure, or weight, but it makes him feel light. It’s the same feeling he got the first time Angus executed a flawless Mage Hand. Not pride, not fondness, but not...not those things. Something more complicated.
He doesn’t want to analyze it, so he doesn’t. Instead, he slouches into a more comfortable position, wrapping his arms tighter around Angus so the boy detective doesn’t slide off his lap.

Taako works through his trauma/emotional constipation and tries to deal with his newfound parental feelings towards Angus.
Companion to Repression is a slippery slope that leads to emotions. Hopefully this works as a standalone, but I would still strongly recommend reading that one first.
