Summary
Much to Elias’ dismay, Jon doesn’t actually want to be an Archivist.
Also… well, as Georgie put it: “There are only two situations where you’d say someone ‘died in the line of duty’: if they were actually a literal soldier, or else if you’re a serial killer and you’re not actually that committed to pretending you didn’t kill them. Unless Gertrude died in a top-secret war that’s going on in the basement of the Magnus Institute, I see only one option here.”
Jon glared, but Georgie shrugged. “Sorry, Jon, I just call it like I see it. Your boss is a serial killer and you’re next on his hit list. Probably best not to take his creepy cursed job position.”
~
In which Jon and Georgie are flatmates, the archives crew rock their dysfunction to the fullest, and the only thing that resembles canon is the way absolutely no one is cishet.

Summary
It was easier to treat Jon like a monster when he wasn’t shivering against his back, brokenly humming—wait, was that…
“Are you trying to do ‘Hey, Jude’?” Tim demanded.
Jon stopped, stiffening. “Mm hrmh mm mmh hm,” he said defensively.
“You really can’t hold a tune, can you, boss?”
*
It was just an ordinary walk to a restaurant. Tim had insisted that if they were going to talk, there would be no tape recorders or weird Archives ghosts listening in. A bit of fresh air wouldn’t kill him, Tim had said. What could go wrong?
By the time Jon spots the white delivery van, it’s much too late.
The Stranger kidnaps Jon. Tim comes along for the ride.

Summary
"It looked kinda important, Jon." Tim said carefully. "Sort of like a log or like–"
"Well, it wasn't." Jon cut him off abruptly, the crunch of the sticky note near deafening in the sudden quiet.
There was a handful of terse, silent seconds.
"Do you track your food, Jon?"

Summary
"Stop." Jon growled. "You– you won't get away with this. Not if you leave me alive, and I know you need me. You can't do this without my power."
Elias laughed, the sound deep and dripping with condescension. "Jon, this will happen whether you want it to or not. This is simply an act of mercy; so you won't suffer as if you would alone. And besides, when we are done no one will believe you, at least not without fearing you."
